Re the rotation policy and England voluntarily not playing the team that won the first test again in the series, I’m just wondering if the rotation applies to Root?

will he being having time off?
He’s not involved in the white ball stuff so I guess yeah. Hopefully he has a nice rest before the summer

Patel back to Durham this year? he wont play for India for a while to be fair in red ball

Very harsh on an England youngster like

Anyone who was out in South Africa will tell you how well he bowled
I actually feel sorry for Bess he’s only 23 and he’s being called worse than shite everywhere. Hopefully gets support from senior management and players. Same goes for the younger batsmen as well

I didn’t see the article.

What is the argument for Hales being binned having an adverse effect on YJB ? (genuine question)

I think he’s just reverted to the careless, loose batsman that he was in his early days ..... nowt to do with anyone else
Hales being dropped meant Bairstow went up to open in the one day stuff, the argument is that it meant he changed his stance & therefore his game to open up the off side and hit in to out.

It’s one of the reasons there’s a gap between his bat & pad he gets out lbw and bowled through the gate so frequently.

Some poor comments and the management have handled him Really badly

The pressure that was on him this game was ridiculous, almost set him up to fail

Leach is number 1 now so don’t really matter although long tail will be an issue going forward

Agree the abuse towards Bess is a disgrace averages 32 with the ball and played major roles in us winning tests. Also average 26 with the bat some going for a 23 year old. Im not surprised his confidence is shot he was removed from the team for a bad 2nd innnings display after making a massive contribution in the 1st innings and then we expect him to comeback flying.

The batsman are the issue England still have too many batsman who are no's 6 or 7 test match batsman

He’s also a high class wicket keeper batsman who has the next best averaged for an England keeper behind Stewart and prior. They move him up and down the order like there is no tomorrow. Same with Ali. No wonder both focus on white ball where they have defined roles.

The real concern is Crawley, Sibley, Burns and pope

They are our red ball bankers and they’ve been utterly awful, albeit inexperienced
