India v England series

When the England series at home arrives, the i Indians won’t be able to bowl less than 20 overs of seam in a test. That will test their fitness for starters.

their batting has not been out of this world either with no 400 plus innings I can remember. Let’s see their cockiness when it’s over cast and ten degrees

Problem is they actually do have a good pace bowling attack and Ishant, Bumrah, Siraj, Shami, Kumar would all do well in those conditions

Glad I stayed in bed to be honest

Genuinely interested in views on Bairstow at 3 in Asia. Hasn’t made a 50 yet this winter, albeit the circumstances have been pretty shocking.
He’s had a horrid time since SL.
I like him, but I’ve always been a fan. Think I’m the only one at the moment though.
Really good article and analysis on him in the Telegraph the other day. IMO there’s a strong argument that Hales being binned off has indirectly resulted in Bairstow’s Test game falling apart.
Wish the move to 3 had worked out better, but it looks like that’s it for now.
We’re a worse side without him in the middle order in my view, for what it’s worth.
I don’t think they’ll need 400+ scores either. Our best hope is that is swings round corners and their batsmen get into a rut like ours against spin out there
Just got to hope this tour doesn’t leave too much baggage.
I think the return series will be much tougher than I was anticipating a few weeks ago.

I don’t think baggage will be an issue once we get back home (although might still have the challenges of bubble life). We’ve hardly faced their seamers and their spinners never look anywhere near as big a threat away from home. We shall see
