The words eggs and basket come to mind. The numbers will really only start tumbling once the 30, 40 million or so under 50s find out what the government intends to do with them. So long as they can get all 100% vaccinated by the Autumn or early Winter then life will finally get better. I think Doris can get every under 50 vaccinated in 2021 without having to roll over into 2022.

I might be being thick but as the vaccine works at base level then surely it should be workable against any mutation of sars cov2.

The vaccine triggers an antibody response and the antibodies bind to the spike protein. So if there is a mutation that alters the structure of the spike protein the antibody may not bind to it
