I just asked my then 6 year old to rattle off the 2014 side he got Mannone, Alonso, Oshea, Brown, Catts, Johnson, Borini (so missed Ki, Larsson, Bardo, Colback)........and also got subs Giaccerini, Fletcher. So not improbable a six year old remembers his first game. In fact he just told me it was this -

He’s always the victim, a big fat bumbling mass of constant excuses. I often wonder what professional athletes think when they see his obese figure in front of them spouting his words if, erm, footballing wisdom. I think the overwhelming majority of politicians are vainglorious, power hungry, demagogue arseholes who'd sell out their own nan if it benefited their career.

I think media outlets' number 1 priority is profit. Those pushing the story were doing so because it would sell papers/get clicks and now there's little if any developments there's nowt to report. (some still link every story back to the takeover attempt though).

@Fish - have a look at the many youtube channels dedicated to Newcastle for documented evidence. There were no dissenting voices whatsoever to the PIF takeover. As I said above if it was ALK buying you then that numpty would not have been camping at the PL HQ, you would not have been writing to MP's, people would not be changing social media profiles to the USA etc. You can pretend all your like, and dismiss twitter sentiment but the vast majority of fans had pound signs in their eyes. Now, many are backtracking and saying it was just to get rid of Ashley which is convenient when you are near the bottom. When Newcastle were comfortable Henry Mauriss was dismissed as not being rich enough so may as well stick with Ashley. E.g. from the Mag - "

Absolutely terrible manager. Ive said it for years and was gutted when he came here as i knew what would happen. Those using the injuries in mitigation for the mags poor form should remember the amount of injuries hes had here. Its been a feature of his managerial career in fact. Absolutely devastated when the sale fell through. There should have been condemnation from at least one Newcastle fans group about the takeover. There was nothing. No concerns at all. So desperate for glory and money you'd sell to anyone.
