PROBABLY won't buy you? I'd say definitely.

And they went to all that time and trouble to Sportswash you for a piffling £17M. Peanuts
£17m to sportswash some of the fans of a parochial football club. You're blinded by your bias if you think they didn't want to own Newcastle United.
I dont remember a single Saudi putting their head up championing the deal, they didn't say a word till they walked away, and even then it was a pretty anonymous statement.

There's no embarrassment for the Saudis but there's a lot for Amanda Staveley. Twice she has tried to buy the club with largely someone else's money and twice (dispite "no red flags") she has failed. I think she was the one telling the Saudis how easy it would be.

It was always a weird set up to be honest
Well, they tried and failed to buy a Premier League club, something their rivals have managed. That's embarrassing.

Staveley is a weird one, she's trying so hard to get parties together to buy us, but either didn't foresee an issue with piracy and uncertain ownership, or she thought it'd be easily resolved. Either way she's got it horribly wrong.

I'd prefer the Ruebens to just buy us out at a Championship-reduced price.
Only cost them 17m didnt even need to buy the club.

Look at the way your lot carry on over on twitter.

An arab farts and there is speculation of what that means for the takeover
Oh, well, if twitter is what you're going off you need to have a sit down and a cuppa, to be honest.

Has there been any indication that the Reubens would want to own you 100%? It is a poor financial investment as the net spend required to make the top six/top four is incredible. Why would they want to own a vanity project? PIF had deep enough pockets for it to be a vanity project with associated positive reflection on KSA. Obviously I am biased, but IMHO the fans behaviour has made you near untouchable aside from a thick skinned US financier who will rinse you dry. Mags may want to remember the proverb #he who laughs last laughs longest after you have lorded over our L1 status.

You're blinded by stupidity if you think it was anything other than a sportswashing exercise. And the whole world knows they want a big club. Manchester United. Not some irrelevant club who hasn't won owt for 65 years. They chose you lot because they knew it would be a sinch

No indication at all, it's just what I'd prefer.

I don't think you need to aim for top six/top four, you can build a sustainable, ambitious club that bobbles about the top half, occasionally competing for domestic cups, occasionally benefiting from elite clubs having poor seasons to sneak into Europe. That investment isn't eye-watering and can be predicated on a shrewd transfer model, good commercial deals and a strong academy.

I think the behaviour of the fans won't matter a jot to prospective buyers. No more than shitting in seats, or leaving early mattered to your new owner. ;)

Didn't you lord it over us when we were relegated both times, when we were investigated by HMRC, when the Saidi takeover failed, when we appointed Bruce, when we lose most weeks? Isn't that what rival fans do?

I don't think he will drop his price if we're relegated, but I would like it to happen. If we do get relegated we'll sell some players, he'll have to put some of his own money in, again. And we'll need to appoint a new manager, which is always a gamble.

You’ll be pissing yourself laughing if/when we get relegated. And rightly so may I add!

I know it was an attempt at sportswashing, I've never said otherwise. If they didn't want to buy Newcastle United, why bother even trying. Sportswashing needs more than simply flirting with the idea, if it didn't, they would have surely flirted with the idea of buying the elite clubs like Man Utd, or whomever. They wouldn't have gone through as much of the process as they did if they were not remotely interested in ending up as owners of Newcastle United.

Also, it wasn't a cinch, because it failed.
Always amusing when to counter all the mad stuff your lot have done, the comeback is some fans leaving early and the mythical stool on a seat.
Well, there's more, but I was aiming for pith.
