The vaccine thread

Is Oldie promoting himself as some kind of well-informed insider for suggesting things may get moved forward?

Given that he has spent the last year being the joke of the forum for not knowing his subject matter, I suppose this is a win for him.

No way that Johnson will bring any of the lockdown relaxation dates forward if for no other reason that he has both cross party and public support for the programme

For those worried about the new Variants and vaccine effectiveness...

New Vaccine trials

Pfizer are seeing if a 3rd dose can act as a booster for the immune response - also in the article Moderna have already tweaked their vaccine and have one going to trial that has been manufactured to hit the South African variant

It looks like the route to licensing the vaccines is easier too all they need to show is an immune response to the vaccine in smaller trials rather than the massive placebo controlled ones they had to do in the first place

So I would expect that come Autumn the vaccine program will go back to the old and vulnerable with a newer vaccine to act as a booster and cover any worrying variants that have emerged so we dont have the nightmare we had this Winter

I'm sure he would be banned for a bit if he was doing something wrong like.

Our lass had the Pfizer vaccine on Wednesday and is still feeling rough now. Has a high temperature as well.

A mate at work had that one. Mum and dad had the Oxford one I think. Dunno what I will have at the back end of the summer around July or August time. I hope to get whichever is the best of them all m. I’m not waiting most of the year for the shit one. If it’s the Pfzirier one then great. My mate had no serious effects. Not that I would mind anyway if I did have any.

I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Why do you keep saying July or August? You are in your 40s? You will be done before May.

No. That is what they are aiming for. Originally it was all adults to have one shot by July so you were always going to be before then.

So it isn't just you who thinks that? Great. I am very encouraged by that. I mean I would rather have it in May rather than August or thereabouts if someone can make it happen. Any leg up from anyone would be very much appreciated. I thought that was your best guesstimate. I just wanted to give mine and my best was a bit later than yours.

Google some news stories and you will see estimated timelines or just look in this thread.

I tried asking Google to come up with results for when the under 50's will be vaccinated multiple times but with little success sadly.

Looking forward to it. Has anyone on here had one? What happened when you got there? Do you have to sign in or announce your arrival to a nurse? How long does it take? I have heard rumours that you have to wait for ages in the waiting room afterwards before being allowed to go. I am hoping for the AZ one.

Has anyone had one?, yes approx 20million
What happens when u get there,? You join the appropriate queue, boys to the right girls to the left
Do u sign in etc? it’s ok they will accept a X
How long does it take? Depends how long the queue is
Waiting afterwards? Depends wether u are good or not
Hoping for AZ, It’s a lucky dip, you get what ever you pull out of the box, hopefully it’s not the placebo

I saw a link somewhere last week that breaks down how many people have been vaccinated ( and what age) down to near enough village level (MSOA ? )
Cant for the life of me find it now .
Can anyone help.
It was as good as counting seats like we used to do before, watching the percentages go up daily.
