Just popped back in and seems we are living rent free!

I sense you lot are getting in a frenzy and sensing you lot could be going up and that you may be in the same league as us next season. Maybe just keep that in check for a while longer yet as we have been here before and you still stuck 2 leagues below and I think that will remain the case come May.
Nice to see the word think in a Mag post. Spelled correctly as well.

If you have a few minutes watch this:

yet most Newcastle fans will have them over Ashley.
I get all that.
But what I can't understand is how Saudi investment is all over the Uk and nothing is done about it.
The Saudis are all over sport, boxing, golf horse racing the lot.
Even petrol in our cars.

Why is it not mentioned in the press ?

Same as Putin and his poisoners.

All evidence there but the rest of the world are often fearful to do anything about them. Same goes for China and the "alleged " fuck up with this messed up testing.

If the world don't act then how are the neanderthals supposed to know any different....."ug ug wor soodees are alreet "

I presume you are on a wind up? Did you actually watch the video or just see the headline?

No one is denigrating the entire nation of KSA. The importance of this story is that the connection with the decapitation runs right to the ruler of the nation. The same ruler, that wished to buy NUFC. You may say that is PIF but why did he just go live on TV and present the 5 year plan for PIF? Would you really want such a person representing your football club? A man so callous he thinks nothing of have a critical journalist decapitated? If you were a fellow owner would you wish to share the same negotiating table as him? Even putting aside that KSA allowed the illegal broadcasting of the very product that has made the EPL so rich and clearly has no respect for intellectual property rights.

If Saudi truly wanted to own NUFC they could well have done a long time ago. The Royal family is huge and anyone of the princes could have been gifted the money to put the club. There were many ways around the problem. But no, they wanted the association with the country directly. It is not about investment as they have many other investment opportunities offering a much higher return. It was about the association with a nation. Without even buying the club they have numerous apologists. We have a significant number of NUFC fans, on social media comparing the employment of people on zero hour contracts to the pre-mediated decapitation of a journalist. I read yesterday (I wish I could find it) one fan saying "fair enough Saudi's human rights record is wank but look what Cashley has done to our club". We also have the so-called spokesmen of the fans on national radio excusing them for their actions and saying they will change. As far as I can tell tens of thousands of NUFC fans would take PIF (and MBS) regardless of the background.

Regarding the points you made. Property rights and commercial law in the UK, and most developed nations mean you can buy whatever you want. Every millionaire in the middle east has money elsewhere - it is what you do when you are living in a dictatorship and your property could be seized at any time. I am no expert in horse racing but I do not think PiF or MBS own horses, even then they would exert no significant control. The recent boxing events took place in KSA - it's a free market and if no one else offered purses to match there is nothing to stop boxers travelling. Likewise, the recent Saudi International. They offer the money and players travel. They exert no significant control.

p.s.
I have met many Sauid's - and they are very sharp people. It wouldn't surprise me if they undertook analysis on which club would be the easiest to bribe with the promise of a few signings and concluded it was Newcastle. We all know they wanted Liverpool or Manchester United but I think Liverpool's more left leaning fans would make it difficult for them and would do more harm than good in their sportswashing ambitions. These recent revelations have done horrific damage to KSA and it's attempts to modernise.

Seems the 'TOON army are still crying. Banner left outside ground to humiliate the manager. Really will help with confidence going forward. Good, maybe they believe St. Joey is coming to rescue them .
