India v England series

Awful wicket with even Indian commentators saying they hadn't seen one like it at the start of play today.
Sadly though only shows how poor a lot of our bowling was yesterday. Think we knew then we let them get far too many.
Precious few long hops and full tosses from their bowlers.

Sorry like, you are just wrong, this is the worst test pitch I have seen in my life time.

Name a worse one?
You are so melodramatic. It’s not that bad a pitch. It’s turning a lot but it’s consistent and isn’t unplayable by any means. Bad pitches are ones that are completely variable and unplayable, like Taunton has been at times. This isn’t like that at all. It really isn’t a 66-5 pitch, it isn’t that bad, we’ve bat poorly as well and they’ve bowled well.

It’s annoying because I was hoping to see 5 days of good cricket and having something to watch whilst working for the next few days, but that’s life.

I don't think many are calling for sanctions but are saying this is a terrible pitch for test cricket and home sides shouldn't doctor them to this extent.

It will be interesting to see what the next two pitches are like. If they are rampant turners , breaking up on Day 1 then yes the Indians have probably gone too far with the home field advantage. You would hope for the majority of the matches to be a fairer contest between bat and ball. We will see.

Agree with this. We bowled poorly with very little control at times.

Ball turns in India - Yes
Ball turns extravagantly in India - Yes

No shocks thus far.

Pitch breaks up in India - Yes

Still ok

It does all this on Day 1, not so great. It’s not a great advert for Test Cricket, the game is worth far more than any one off result. Problem is, this will be 1-1 and not one fuck will be given by the powers that he as it plays to all of peoples misgivings, which on this evidence, are entirely well founded.

haha f***ing hell man

you really are an utter troll go away

I also find arguments on this board, suit people’s bias mind.

When Somerset produced numerous turning pitches on day 1 in the championship and were eventually fined for it, plenty people called the ECB for sanctioning them.

Yet the moment India do it there should be sanctioned straightaway.
It is a bit of an echo chamber at times on here.

Stephane Shemilt on the BBC Live reporting...

6:22 Morning. Let's get a few things out there...I've got no problem with the pitch.

7.01 I suspect India will bat again. If they don't, could England even lose today?

If at least 24 wickets fell in one day on a test match pitch I'd hope you'd be able to see there might be a problem with the pitch.

cheers for letting me know what I should be interested in marra

Asked you a simple question mate, name a worse test pitch in the last 20 years

pretty simple question like.
The pitches south Africa played on against these I think in 2018.

Think 2 got reported to the ICC

They were called for it, on here, each and every time, it was very well documented at the time that they were using ‘products’ and techniques which weren’t banned but weren’t entirely ethical. The following year those ‘products’ were banned.

So you’ve either got a shit memory or you’re talking out of your arse.

That’s what the twin towers conspiracy theorists always say
They are right about it some of it is evidence. Difference is there is a shed load of evidence that says the conspiracies aren't true. Evidence is not proof.

Now, explain how a perfectly good third umpire forgets how to play a full replay, then refuses to show the part that shows the wicket. You can't because it makes no sense what so ever. If he missed it first time and then after prompting went back and found it, that's incompetence, an oversight not what happened here.

Aye one in Jamaica defs worse, but not one I saw live

I cant think of a worse one

In Englands you get impossible situations, when its cloudy, humid, dark, and Jimmy has the ball, but you can't do anythung about that, its usually flatter after that.

Even in Sri Lanka, it turns day 1, and the games moves at a pace but it gets to day 4 regularly, it doesnt fall apart

I just wish there was the possibility of sanctions, but they are so powerful, the other 2 games will be like this

I actually want to watch some good cricket! especially in lockdown, so its frustrating more than anything
The pitch is terrible I’m not sure what the criteria is for sanctions in international cricket.
