He’s done no more than ok

I’m reserving judgement like and give him more time, he needs to get us challenging

I don’t like his interviews mind, surprised people do, can only assume those haven’t worked in an office much, that’s what middle management talk like
Yep. It's still way too early for him to have identified our core competencies. Needs to be given time to maximise our POMO optimisation strategy, identify our key deliverables and establish the knowledge base that will enable us to be proactive rather than reactive when pushing the envelope.

The midfield selections are leaving us more vulnerable for our four at the back. But after years of cautious managers I’m enjoying the end to end nature of the games.

You sense that he needs to have good players at his disposal because if we are to go on a winning run it will be flair up front rather than defensive solidity.

Are you seriously still calling out Wyke ?

We have a dodgy keeper, our defence looked shaky today, our central midfield was second best all day. Wyke scored, again.
Stated that WYKE scores goals but doesn't mix it up ,it is correct statement .6 FT 2 INS not strong enough, bullied off the ball ,could be more physical.

He’s not as bad, Coleman had a decent squad of players and fucked it up really badly.

He was poor. That said, he inherited a far worse situation however and a completely toxic environment. At that point, it was the worst squad in Sunderland’s history. I’m not sure any manager available to Sunderland would have done better. Grayson was the big error appointment. Wrong man at the wrong time.

Shocking from Johnson today, Diamond ripped them apart less than a week ago and didnt play any part against them today. We didn’t press for the first 45 minutes which worked so well in the cup game.

Leadbitter in a two man midfield does not work either, Scowen (for all of his flaws) is the only one who can press with O’Nien centrally.

Frustrating as out, we just arent good enough.

I can understand Diamond not starting every week, but like you say I'd have given him 15 minutes at the end.

Diamond should have been on for the last 20 but let’s not forget he was f***ing awful in the first half on Tuesday! Second half he came to lifeX

Yeah i can aswell but for him to play no part after ripping them apart a few days earlier is just pathetic.

For me he needs to get Wyke uptop with Gooch off him, Jones and McGeady wide and use Diamond when they tire or injured. O’Brien. would be my last pick out the lot.

I don't think Johnson has done a very good job so far. I think our players should be getting more points than they are getting. I'm optimistic he will get things right, the quality of our play in short periods is pretty good but in periods when the opposition have the ball or during their moments we have to be a lot better. We make it too easy for the opposition too often.

Do people think he will keep his job if we dont even make the playoffs?

Surely dreyfus/speakman appointed him

If he was their appointment then hopefully they'll have put some sort of clause in the contract which says he gets a reduced compensation package if we don't make the playoffs. Not a chance that Donald & Methven would have had the foresight to do so.

Happy to give him enough time but he needs to find his best starting XI and fast. If today was anywhere near it them I am mightily concerned.
Willis, Flanagan and Hume are all injured, to some degree. So that's, potentially three who might be in our best eleven. I'm starting to think that O'Nien / Scowen in CM with three of McGeady, Jones, Gooch and Diamond and Wyke up front might be our best side. I'd like Leadbitter to play, but, he's not up to competing, physically. Bringing him on when players tire might be his best position for us.

I would like to see Rawa or other supporters reps get questions at press conferences. We can then hold him (and future managers) to account by asking him to explain why he's doing things the way he does. The Look North / ITV questions are just a waste of time.

Bringing maguire on instead of diamond was ridiculous
