Ha! I had the pleasure of going to Marseille in May about three years in a row.

It's got a bit of a grimey/Northern feel to it once you head back from the port and it can be a struggle getting a decent hotel (below luxury level) but sitting at a bar having a beer looking out at the super yachts feels a million miles from the quayside, as lovely as it is!

A few years? Aye apart from the period from 94 until Ashley arrived in 2007 when we were in Europe nearly every season!

never have been or never will be anything else? I would say beating Barcelona and Juventus in the champions league the highest level of club football says otherwise like. Something you lot will never reach.
We have never been small time enough to play 3rd division and papa johns football either :oops:

Well Im pretty sure some of those seasons in Europe were through the backdoor, because other better teams were winning 2 competitions therefore you qualified by default for losing a cup semi final or something. I just thought id do some research into your league positions in the years you describe (1994 to 2007)

3, 6, 2, 2, 13, 13, 11, 11, 4, 3, 5, 14, 7, 13.

And some of those years you were in a voluntary European competition (The Intertoto) so even though you may have been in Europe for a few seasons, it wasnt nearly every season, and even those "few" seasons were through the failings of others, not yourselves :lol: You have also been in Europe during Ashleys tenure too but that conveniently gets forgotten about because it was Ashley and Pardew at the helm :lol::lol::lol::lol:
