I expect England to be competitive the problem is I can't see them taking 20 wickets to actually win s game.
Great series for individual players to really make a name for themselves..

Think that was to do with SL batting like school kids in the first innings of the first test and third innings of the second test practically giving their wickets away.

I think it’s fair to say India will not do that.

I reckon flat until day 4 then spin. Ahmedabad the venue for the last two will be interesting as it’s a new ground and apparently they can use a range of soil depending what they want

Just on this though, I was looking back on the last India series (as I am an absolute loser), and it wasn't quite how I remembered

we got 400-450 four out 5 in our first innings

Jennings, Root, Ali, Stokes etc all got 1, we just struggled to take wickets. My memory was us struggling with bat, we actually battled pretty hard and still ogot 4-0

thats kind of what I think here, I think we will do OK but still lose like 3-1 or so, with no shame

i think there is an assumption if you lose like 3, 4-0 then you have been terrible, but its not always the case over there, if that makes sense?

That’s the usual way but India have some decent seamers these days but they maybe relying on jadeja and ashwin to win the games

be interesting if Ashwin was to be injured though.

As long as there’s a bit of pace (if that’s even possible in Chennai) I think they’ll get something out of whatever they prepare. Very clever bowlers. I’m not sure if their first choice are back or whether it will be the “second string” bowling attack that won in Oz

We were poor last time mind. Both spinners were awful and I think we need players to make big hundreds this time. Last time it was 100 and out, doesn’t win many games over there. Hated that series mind, Cook looked broken at the end of it

The batting wasn't that poor like, thats my point, take a look at the games. the bowling was I agree.

I'm not expecting us to make loads more runs than last time, its unrealistic to think that

Our top 6 averaged between 30-49 just didnt create enough pressure with the ball or take enough wickets or get the really big score with the bat

yeah fair, need batsman averaging higher for sure, I just we did better than I remembered, bowling was as bad as I can remember mind

I agree. I guess the counter is:

- India may have been locked down, but it’s a society where people live hand to mouth in many instances. It will be widely spread already
- it’s a much younger population

Neither of these are good reasons obviously
