Ye divvent undastaand ...... Benitez was a ‘name’ so his failure was all down to Ashley ... Bruce is a ‘journeyman’ so his failure is all down to him. You have to understand the burning desire of Newcastle fans to be ‘important’ enough to be mentioned along with Liverpool, Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea,Spurs, Arsenal. They regard clubs like yours,Leicester and Everton as less important to football than themselves

The double standards of the mags is pretty shocking. Benitez got the credit for every good result and Ashley got the blame for everyone bad one.

Benitez was pure teflon while mags manager.

Yet he fucked off as soon as more 💵💵 was thrust under his nose. ‘Loved the fans and the city’ (think he still lived in Liverpool) 🙄 it’s what they needed to hear, they can’t bare rejection but he played them like a fiddle and it was always about him.

Had this out with my mate the other day about Rafa, as he was complaining about Bruce. Tried to say Rafa did a better job as he got the promoted with a minus net spend irrespective that he didn’t £50M+. It’s absolutely baffling the praise he gets for achieving absolutely nothing and winning stuff at other clubs.

This is what makes me laugh about them like. He had no choice but to sell Sissoko and Wijnaldum because he had just got the club relegated. They go on like they were rafas signings and he was forced to sell them :lol:

And he got relegated with them two in the side who were top class players and Townsend, Shelvey, Mitrovic, Perez, Cisse, Lascelles, MBemba, Janmaat, Krul etc. There was more than enough there to stay up and more than enough attacking ability not to go to already releagted Villa who had lost 9 in a row failing to score, not won in 15 and not eve try to win.

ashley never gets credit for the mental fees they got for hakf arsed players

same cup tournament as sissoko 30m we got 1.5m for giacharrini who scored and also did well

They had everyone around them fighting for relegation still to play, were actually outside the relegation zone when he took over, but for some weird reason have completely rewritten history to say they were already doomed :lol:

rafa basically said his own players werent good enough after every loss as well, and the press backed him and fans"what could he dee"

but every scraped win the press, pundits and fans were all "rafa benitez is a genius"

That 10th placed finish massively papered over the cracks that had emerged tbf. From the day we sold Bent in mid-January only Blackpool picked up less points than we did for the rest of that season, we went from being just outside the Champions League places to looking like we could genuinely be sucked into the relegation battle in the space of 3 month FFS :lol:
