.. Gona get pelters, but I thought he did a cany job here until it went sour .. And while it was right to get rid of him when we did, I do think he was a little unluckily with the way our best forwards pissed off ..

He did start off decently and was well backed by the fans. It then went downhill. He hardly got anything from the fans while he was at the club. Most of the hatred and dislike of Brice is for the way he has rewritten history to say he was never accepted here. It was bollocks

Their obsession with comparing every single thing he does to Benitez is weird like, particularly when they ignore the fact they did broadly the same.

Yes they got beat off Brentford on the cup, but I don't remember them wanting Rafa sacked when they got tanked 3-0 by Oxford.
They're the biggest starfuckers in the country. If benitez was producing this turgid level of football they'd be directing all their energy at Ashley.

Exactly. Ashley is missing a trick here. All he has to do is appoint a big name manager and the results don't matter too much. They'd be perfectly content if they had Rafa now and were in the same position.
I said it at the time that Rafa had turned out to be a way for Ashley to keep the fans down.

Bruce ruined his reputation here with the excuses for his failure . Blaming his Geordie roots for his shortcomings was pathetic and spoilt an otherwise decent tenure.

Crowd definitely turned on him towards the end but even that was after Bruce had spent months belittling the fans who were worried about our dreadful form in 2011.

As much as losing Bent felt like a body-blow there was still more than enough in that squad for us not to capitulate the way we did in 2010/11. Given the squads he had in his 2 full seasons, he really under-achieved by finishing 13th and 10th IMO.

Exactly. Sounds ridiculous and childish saying this, but... “he started it”

He’s used ‘other’ team connections everywhere he’s been finished from 🙄
Apparently the press are now touting Gerard as his replacement next season ! Is he an ‘acceptable’ big name for the huge clurb supporters who crave the media attention ?
Why would Gerard take a step down?

I'll be honest, if he'd put "Human sacrifice! Dogs and cats living together!" into his mass hysteria comment I'd have absolutely loved it and doffed my cap accordingly.

He’s 100% right though- all Newcastle fans are bellends
Even if that’s not what he said he’s thinking it
This is what I was going to say. Notwithstanding the Brentford game, what more do they really, and I mean realistically want? Overall he has got better results and plays better football than their beloved Rafa. They have two of their best players out to long-term Covid. Do they really think someone could come in, go all gung-ho and really improve results?

I’m not sure if Bruce is a bad manager or not as he says his remit is to keep the team in the PL. So far he’s doing that. They have a very slim chance of relegation and zero chance of Europe. They’ve nicked a few results against better sides by playing his overly cautious style. Should he try to open things up they’ll get sliced and diced from all angles. He’s doing no different than BSA does anywhere he’s been in the past 4 jobs or so. Rafa was an excellent manager in the championship but a bit out of his depth in the PL. Ashley showed some balls by investing in getting straight back up as that’s where the money is to be made.
As for the fans. Cheer up, your makeup is running.

For a paranoid knacker who says himself he has no interest in football tactics and doesn't know how to turn on a computer, he punches above his not inconsiderable as a football manager. He's proving to be an upgrade on Rafa. Newcastle are lucky to have him. Perhaps they haven't realised he is from Wallsend and is one of their own?
