Takeover News/Rumours - Part 42

I think were getting confused mate.

There is a soft cap in place at the moment, so any contract that was signed before the vote counts as the divisional average. So max power counts as 1.8k per week despite that he is actually on 6k per week. The second he signs a new deal, it counts in full towards the cap.

So theoretically we're 2k under the cap as it stands, we wouldn't be able to keep everyone registered if max power was to sign a contract on half of the money he is currently on.

There is one in particular that I'm fussed about but already made my peace with.

Best part of 3 times over by my reckoning.
I almost asked who you were fussed about there:lol:

Ah ok. So we basically can't offer any new contracts (for those players above 1.8k per week) until the season is up? Can't we get around that anyway?

This cap will screw us if we dont go up.

We can still offer bigger contracts to U21s - on the proviso that we shed enough cap space in the summer to fit them in next season

Nope, the squad needs entirely rebuilding on wages a third of what we currently pay.

So if 6k gets you max power, can you imagine what the current lot will get with 1.8k?

We can register 20 players next season over the age of 21. They won't involve Willis or power or a couple of others unless we get promoted or they take large wage cuts.

People have mentioned bonuses for minimal things as a manner of getting around things but that runs a risk. Also mentioned is under 21 players for over the cap but majority of those who are decent bets will be converted by championship clubs. Foreign players will be blocked by brexit soon enough so that takes our best way of running out of the equation.

It just stresses the importance of us getting out of this league this year. Otherwise we could be stuck in this league for some time.

Anyhow, ignore my previous 10 messages on this thread.

no rush to buy a football club at this time is there mate
Depends what they do with the transfer window if Boris sticks England into lockdown after Christmas. We need to get promoted this season before we lose three quarters of the squad and can’t resign any due to the salary cap. We really need the takeover to happen before, or at the start of, the transfer window

I've been in his company and he won't eat or drink anything that isnt handed to him by security e.g. passed sealed bottles of water and not the jugs on the table etc. I also heard the reason he bought Chelsea was to raise his profile high enough so that the Russian government would need to think long and hard before assassinating him. Anyway has this takeover been anounced yet?

Didn’t he pay the people off? I could be wrong but after the CL final in Moscow he paid them off so he could attend.

Problem the players face is that all clubs down here will be restricted by the salary cap do they won't be able to sign for anyone unless they lower their demands as they aren't good enough for The Championship.
I have a feeling once we start seeing more players at this level restricted like this one or two will want the PFA to actually do something about it and the EFL salary caps will vanish on however long the court case takes.
