Takeover News/Rumours - Part 42

Possibly. I just don’t believe Donald is capable of the smarter thinking and vision required even if he was explicitly tasked with it.

I completely agree, it's never been within his understanding. The only thing that I can come up with is someone is investing and doesn't want to run it full time but wants it done in this manner.

Far from ideal that you would have someone who doesn't understand the structure running it.

They want the money back because they know fine well he can’t afford to pay it back. Especially now he’s had to spend it all on running the club.
The whole reason they loaned him it was clearly not because they were ‘investing in him’. It was because they seen how desperate they were to flip it, so gave him a loan that was so much in their favour, they just had to sit back and watch them fail.
Spot on , he tried to get clever / greedy with the some of the best business minds out there and they ve let him fuck himself . Horrible set of conmen we have in charge of us

There is always things going on behind the scenes with RAWA also, mate.
The lads are constantly finding things out, speaking to people, and most importantly, acting on behalf of the fans.
Behind the scenes is not good enough. If they are a fan organisation they need to tell supporters all they know/learn. I was told the time wasn;t right to protest as we had enjoyed a good start (it wasn't even that good). It was mag like behaviour. We win a few games so the destruction of our your teams and structure is just ignored. I'm beginningto get as angry with this as I am with SD and co.

Would be nice if it’s not months, transfer window opens in a few weeks.
18 days, actually. Things need to start moving, pronto.
I didn't know until it was posted here a couple of days ago that the EFL process looks at the 'deal' rather than just the 'fit and proper' test for potential owners. Given the bullshit the deadly duo gave out regarding the takeover from Short, they will be looking at this one with a microscope. Once bitten, twice shy.
I'm sure the Yank deal fell through because they dug up some issues that stank regarding the pair's honesty about finances. At that time we were suddenly going to sue a Doctor over the Ricky Alvarez farce, but that 'anomaly' disappeared along with the takeover. I'm sure there were other grey areas too, when you look at the clip of some of the people running the club. (And, TBF some of the shit they had to sort out after Byrne & Co handed out all those juicy contracts!)
The EFL wanting a transparent deal with cast-iron finances plays against SD and CM's interests. The Yanks wanting the loan repaid with millions in interest and the club leaking a million a month should concentrate their minds, but ironically the EFL grant gives them a bit of breathing space when time is of the essence. Taking the bit with strings would scupper the deal too.
Today's news that Kyril wants a majority of shares in his own pocket, if true, is good to know and I hope it happens. Short told us he had left the club to 'football people', but didn't realise they were amateurs. At least the KLD connection is Champions League standard.
Like all of us, I can't wait for this nightmare to end.

Confirms that the removal of Parkinson and appointment of Johnson and others were decisions taken by Donald, not Dreyfus. Going as far as to say he'd be surprised if they got rid of them should the takeover happen.

I think this was always obvious. People convinced themselves otherwise based upon posters (who I’ve no doubt are well intentioned) sharing leaked info that it was all the work of the new owners. As if Dreyfuss had headhunted Speakman and Johnson. That was always very fanciful.

The appointment of Speakman may be a masterstroke if he’s as talented as some are suggesting but there’s an aspect of streamlining and money saving in his appointment from the current board.

Rodwell says those decisions were made and implemented solely by the current board, but admits he would be 'astonished' if an incoming regime tore up that plan.

He said: "The reality is that the decision to remove Phil [Parkinson] was made by the board of Sunderland.

"The appointment of Lee [Johnson] was made by the board of Sunderland, and the decision to bring in Kristjaan [Speakman] was made by the board of Sunderland.

"Those are the facts.

"We've tried to keep spinning plates but sooner or later you have to make some big decisions

"I think the calibre of people we have brought in in Lee and Kristjaan speak for themselves, and I would be astonished if any new ownership group came in and decided that they could get better or that they weren't for them, I would be amazed.

"But this is football, and bonkers things happen all the time."
In terms of the governance structure that’s absolutely true, doesn’t necessarily mean they identified them or that others weren’t involved though.

Well KLD liked the appointments on Instagram so I guess that means he approves.

Rodwell's comments to me almost verify what nixon has been saying. His greed got in the way of the Americans taking over, and there is genuine concern its going to get in the way of this takeover.

If sunderland gets moved to tier 2 I really hope there's some form of visible statement in the ground about donald.

What would be the point of that now though?

If Rodwell is right and it’s with the EFL, then it’s a waiting game and we can’t do anything to speed that up.

I support rawa and all the hard work you do.

Although I have gotten the impression that the chap running it knows best. I didn't like the post about it looking strange us kicking up a fuss about Stewart Donald after we won a couple of games. That to me, shows a lack of understanding as to what the core issue is.

How can it be greed. He will end up losing millions if no takeover secured. He hasnt got the dosh. Its just normal negotiating. Dreyfus will end up with the full club

Let’s just remember JS is KLD’s mate, if you believe the decisions to bring in the new people weren’t ran by KLD from JS then you’re very naive. SD, CM and JS have not done or made these decisions over the past couple of weeks solely on their own. They can’t come out and say KLD had any say in the matter as that would give PP some form of right to sue, correct me if I’m wrong.

Just been reading the latest updates through the last few pages.
Talk about putting a pin in yesterday’s balloon.
What happened to “If the fans indicate I’m no longer wanted, I’ll be gone ?”
