then why sack Parky and rush to install an out of work manager with no track record of success
Define success... is it playing attractive football in a league above or is it winning promotion from league 2 or league 1? Would you say Brendan Rodgers has a track record for success? He’s won nothing bar some titles with a Celtic team that wins the league every year.

If it is just a reshuffle with most of the owners still there, surely it should be done quickly?

Relatively, although there is an effective change in control, with SD ceasing to be a majority shareholder. The main delay will be getting KLD cleared, as there is less publically available information on non-UK citizens. There's no earthly reason why he should fail though.

If the RTG doommongers have their way he will.

Any implications or restrictions due to the fact we will be out of europe any day now?

But different than day to day running a business when it’s near the end of a takeover and to be fair to Johnson he’d need reassurance of what’s going on.
Maybe, none of us really have a clue what’s going on. There were plenty on here a few days ago saying that it was obvious this was nothing to do with Donald. It now appears that’s not the case, he was involved in some way.

Still firmly believe that he isn’t the driver on this. He doesn’t have the intelligence for it - and certainly doesn’t have the money or will to spend it. I think this has been an effort from him to rehabilitate his reputation with safc fans. Utterly misjudged of course, but when has Donald ever shown any self-awareness to go alongside his massive ego?

He probably isn’t the driver behind it, but we don’t know who or what is. I actually doubt he wants to be involved much as it stands.
It’s perfectly possible that KLD and Sartori are happy to come in put a bit of money in and probably have some say but work with SD and Methven.

They fault was always Donald thinking him Methven and Fox could do it like playing football manager when he should have had an experienced football man appointed and making decisions. All they succeeded in doing is making themselves look like arrogant fools

Could SD be acting under KLD’s instructions?
I imagine the recent decisions have been heavy influenced by KLD / JS (and their advisors) with a hefty insurance policy that if it goes tits up at EFL stage that Donald won't end up footing the bill. Only natural that he'd speak to Johnson though as the current majority shareholder. I'd think Johnson would expect that too, especially if we needed to 'sell the project' to him.

If I was Johnson I'd want to know what the state of play would be after a takeover and what would happen if the takeover fails for whatever reason. I wouldn't want to take a job on a promise.

Me too. I'm guessing again here, but I imagine he's had it completely spelled out to him and his contract reflects some risk factors.

Even a blind man on a galloping horse can see what a basket case we've been in recent years so would naturally wants some assurances. Especially when they are, and I cannot quite believe I'm going to type this, dropping down a division to join us  :(

The biggest problem of Donald and Methven was always the on pitch issues. I don't think many people had a problem with them trying to make the club self sustainable. So now that we know Speakman is making all football decisions, I'm not as concerned about the background men as I was. Ideally they would still all fuck off, or at the very least Charlie, but it doesn't concern me that Rodwell is running the business side of things or particularly that Donald is in the background.

One thing that is very likely is that Donald is working with KLD/JS on this stuff. Even if he has final say right now, he's trying to sell us to KLD and JS, there's zero chance he appoints someone against their wishes if the deal is anywhere near still on.

I reckon most here would be surprised by how friendly they will be when dealing with it. They both lose if they don't keep a collegiate approach.

My biggest issue with them is the selling of young players and spending more on league one plodders. If there was an attempt to make us self sufficient, it was only in the short term and seemingly in order to get them a sale.
Hopefully the appointment of a SpD especially one with his background signals a change in direction, more focus on youth and a longer term strategy. Although how much of the damage has already been done we will see.

What's toothpaste git to do with it?
