Maybe but he hasn't got the job yet, just an interview. The last few days we've supposedly talked to Poyet
Cowley
Sol Campbell
and just cos some reporter puts it out everyone presumes it's Johnson now. It could be any one of those if there still talking to people maybe Interviewing all 8:lol:.

Hope not though we'll still be no nearer come Xmas.
 
I understand the lack of enthusiasm but this isn't premier league Sunderland anymore. Managers outside of this country will have barely heard of us through anything other than STID. Johnson has amongst the highest win percentages in recent seasons of any of the candidates who are in the top 10 favourites at the bookies and that's in a league above the one we currently find ourselves in. I also understand the sense of disappointment in some that it's not Poyet but as I said in another thread, Poyet's spell here came to a shuddering end. Time has a good habit of blotting out the Aston Villa's at home and the Bradford, Southampton and Hull's away.

I get that as well but we've got to start the recovery somewhere. Hopefully, come the end of the season we'll be reflecting that this was it.

It's not really the owners job to pick a manager is it? Rodwell and the new geezer from Birmingham I imagine are the ones who've picked him surely?
 
Poyet failed with us first time. Other than a reputable name he isnt exactly hot property.
After the so called 'big names' we've had have all but ruined ud in last decade i really dont think writing the new guy off is s9mething we should be so quick to do.

New managers have to get their break at some point to reach their potential.

Im leaving any criticism / applause for the team style of play and results they pick up.

Anything has to better than PP for this club

Delete Rodwell and you're on the money. Forget Rodwell - his job now is simply to run the admin. Speakman won't be reporting to him.

Utter twaddle. He's got zero interest in us other than as a future pay cheque for his 15% somewhere down the line.
