He's done a good job with Lincoln and he transformed Oxford, that said however I'd be a bit underwhelmed.

We need a big character to pick us up and galvanise the whole club with a vision of being here for the long run and to take us higher and I don't think he's that kind of manager.

Talking about rumour of Michael Appleton replacing Parkinson owa the road   Lad just came n mentioned it. Fuck me, i'd jack it all in if that was the case.
I see he's being bigged up for appointment over there by someone who normally does that sort of thing over here. Hasn't quite called him a cult hero, but you get the general idea.

Never read that soz. Not ideal like...

Though plays a better brand of football than fucknut!
Appleton only goes into clubs when they are struggling. Sure he was at Oxford managing??hmmmm....coincidence? Can't see it happening anyway personally, especially with Takeover on the horizon.

He's pretty fearsome like so could put a rocket up these arseholes backsides, ruffle a few feathers. Unlike fucknut who send them to sleep!

Does nowt for me like Appleton. Don't think the players would respind to him. Plus, i personally want a manager who can be here for a few yrs and progress through the leagues. Couldn't see a long term plan under Appleton.
A big connection to both Oxford and Jones makes me worry that there could be something in this.

Has he given any indication of the calibre or the credibility of who it is?

I was wondering to myself, if this is the same takeover that has been going on since the summer, whether either of the linked names then could be in the running. Craig Dean and Guy Branston.
I listened to an interview with Branston recently, sounds like he loves his job looking after the loanees at Leicester. I'm sure he'll have connections from that but he didn't strike me as someone I'd like to see being in charge of our overall set up.

Needs to be the SD’s man otherwise what’s the point. The mistake we made with this last time was appointing somebody in Congerton who had polar opposite views to Poyet. They need to work in sync with each other otherwise it just won’t work.

I’d like to think a new owner with his family football experiences may have some fresher ideas than looking at Oxford connections. I’d also like to think that in terms of appointments they would steer clear of recruitment advice from our current owners who have got us in the bloody mess we’re in.

How far is this horizon ? They usually just go back don’t they ?!?

Just like with Parkinson, people are going to have unrealistic expectations when it comes to our next manager. Who can we actually attract? No investment in the squad in 18 months, seemingly unable to spend in January and then the potential of being hit with the salary cap next summer. Takeover or not, we're not particularly attractive to young managers atm.

It's either take a risk on someone completely unproven or bring in another manager from League 1.

Poyet and Phillips would both take it if there's new ownership with a vision they can get on board with and money to spend. Can't say for sure they'd be a success but they'd certainly inspire more hope among the supporters than Parky or some other league one duffer.

It's good that a DOF will take the football decisions away from the amateurs, but what chance the amateurs will pick the right DOF ?
