Takeover News/Rumours

How do you know it is? If he has him involve it suggests he wants him there and values his input.
I’ve been given a job because my employer wants me there and appreciates my input. But if I suggest something to them they are far less likely to agree to it than they would be if I worked for my best mate.

Not if potential new owner who is 23 remember hasn’t got a clue about what’s been going on while these idiots have owned us, as the kid more than likely been told a whole pack of lies by Charlie to get his role back and £100k+ a year salary for his part time job, plenty on here and many more Safc fans were fooled by the prat and his bullshit for long enough, so why would this kid Dreyfus, not be the same.

That’s the big worry for me.

This is what some of the lads in the RAWA (who know a lot more of what’s gone on/going on, than me) also think. Even to the point that the takeover is still a long way off, if it even happens at all.
Hopefully they are wrong, as I want to get carried away, and hope for a positive outcome, but something just doesn’t feel right.

He’s unlikely to be a final decision maker in anything of any importance though. There’s a massive difference between being an insurance entrepreneur’s sidekick/confidente and working for a billionaire owner who’s been brought up around one of the biggest companies in the World.

he’s caused enough trouble imo, and should have no say whatsoever. Even when he “wasn’t involved” supposedly he’s not shut up. Let’s see what happens, the sooner they both fuck off the better though

If someone holds more share ownership than someone else then they have more of a say, and effectively will have the final decision, especially if they are a billionaire.

So why do some people think Donald & Methven will be able to have a final decision if someone is going to get 60%+ of the shares, or am I missing something here?

Not sure SD is his best mate. Having him there in a role suggests he certainly has influence at least to some degree.

Well thats a massive kick in the knackers. He doesnt have role now so why will that change?

I feel like this whole thing is gunna be a let down

Thing is....even though he resigned as a Sunderland Director and stood back from all things football, has he been doing nothing? I remember the last podcast he done which was only shown on youtube, pretty sure it was after he stood back from things and he was talking up how he was in talks with Sunderland University looking into the whole statitstic and moneyball type of operation regarding player recruitment......I would say he is still in and around things at the minute just not letting his mouth go

Not sure that people think they will have final decision, just that they may well have influence. The degree of that influence is the big question.
It's also not clear the role of Sartori in all this.

With you on that one mate
It’s not done until it’s done one way or another.
Sail past January as we are currently then it certainly won’t happen as potentially it could be another 18 months until promotion

Just had a read back.

So Donald won’t have any say going forward but Methven still wants to pipe up.

He’s set to own 5% I believe. I reckon some billionaire coming in with a 60% holding will tell Methven to do one.

If Methven is really going to be involved in a meaningful way, then that is massively different from what has been reported so far.

The problem is, its not. Nothing of any substance was reported. People were rightly cautious that these f*ckers would still be having a say but those people were shouted down and criticised for not w*nking themselves silly over one report. It still may transpire that they dont have a meaningful say but let's not get ahead of ourselves. Be VERY cautious with these as they've already fooled us once.

Lads , KLD will not get involved in the day to day running of your club , - he and his Mother dropped L'OM
Like a hot potato upon the démise of Husband/Son

The word here is , their gone, fuck off and don't come back - they won't either - but they do wish you the best of luck, as a club

Well if he has a role it seems he hasn't told him to do one. Whether it happens or not and what role/influence it will bring we don't know.
Donald it seems doesn't want to be involved in the running of the club, but who knows really.

He's a big football fan, and just as likely to do that irrespective of his influence at the club. And there are plenty on this forum who would agree with more of that approach. He was also part of the group that put together the initial bailout idea, which would benefit all clubs lower down the pyramid.

The problem with CM is not necessarily what he does (he does have some good ideas), but in the way that he does it. He'll never be less than a Marmite figure. And it's entirely down to his education. All private schools, including the old direct grant schools, try to instil as much self-confidence into their pupils as possible. I remember a conversation I once had with the deputy head of the RGS when I was a pupil there. He said that there was always a risk of that self-confidence spilling over into arrogance, but that that was a better risk to take than a pupil becoming a shrinking violet.

I've come across many Etonians, and many more people who've been through private schools. Very few are self-effacing, but it's only a minority who are outright arrogant. And in the NE, projecting yourself as superior is a bit dumb. I've been accused on here of being patronising - in some cases, it's a fair cop, but that's just a watered down version of the same thing. If you're told throughout your entire adolescence that you're part of an elite, it's hardly surprising if you end up believing you are.

If the takeover is a long way off then we can basically write off promotion this season.
