Novikov

Bit of a surprise there as Novikov wins it on his WSM debut and becomes the youngest ever winner.

Well I hope no one follows Eddie hall or big Z on social media if you don’t like spoilers

Is Eddie not opening himself up to legal/contractual problems by revealing that?
They’ve relaxed that a lot in recent years, probably because the results are constantly leaked anyway so they’ve given the ok for “official” channels to report it. It does make a bit of a mockery of CBS and Channel 5 only showing it over Christmas though - surely it’s only a matter of time before we see some live coverage on the telly.

Even the WSM official Facebook page posted a photo of the podium overnight.

He was there last year wasn’t he? From memory there was hell on about his deadlift technique, which was shady as owt.
Yes typo by me - I meant his Finals debut not his WSM debut.

He had an epic stones battle in the heats last year IIRC which he lost, I think it was to Shaw.

It’s been announced today that Aaron Page has died. It’s not been confirmed as COVID yet but he’d been put in a coma for intubation with COVID last week so I’m assuming.

He’d been meant to be a reserve at WSM but had passport issues.

Liked this, but didn't really like it if you know what I mean. Thanks for sharing, really sad news. Always been kind of on the periphery for me, bit he'd just started working with (Darlo based) 3D Strength, who I think would have done good things for him.

I watched Liz's post WSM interview with Caron last night and he blacked out on the third log, causing his place there and effectively costing him the title.

That would likely explain why I have seen a couple of people I know, including one local strongman competitor posting pictures of themselves with him in recent days.

I wasn’t familiar with Aaron Page myself as I don’t follow strongman closely enough to really know who the competitors are beyond a handful who are generally amongst the favourites for the top tier events, however, obviously it is always sad when someone dies at what should be the prime of their life.

That should say Loz, rather than Liz, darned autocorrect.
