Takeover News/Rumours

I can't speak for prehab but I don't think he believes it's just Sartori buying Donald out. By share realignment I think he just means it's not all of them leaving, they (or some of them) will still have shares, just less than before. Thats what I think he means by realignment. He is suggesting it's quite positive, and I'm pretty sure he wouldn't call sartori taking Donald's place as a particularly positive move

Yeah that's what's confusing, I didnt think he'd see Sartori as a positive either. But 'share realignment' would equally be a weird way to describe someone new taking a majority stake in us, do you not think? To me that's just a takeover.

Yeah I get where you're coming from, but like you say share realignment isn't really a thing so it's definition is open to interpretation! I think he is using it just to mean that it's not a full clean slate and that the current people may still be involved but with lower shares than they have currently. I've definitely always had the impression from him that it's someone new coming in. He even said he can't say who it is because he'd lose his contacts, to me that suggests it's not just Sartori because that would hardly be the kind of name out of nowhere that could be tied back to a source at the club!

So for example, someone comes in and buys 54% of Madrox from Donald. That leaves them in control of Madrox. with Donald and Sartori on 20% each, and Methven on 6%. Both a takeover and a share realignment. If you think back to 20098/9, the original plan was for Short to take 30% of Drumaville. That turned into a full- blown takeover when the crash destroyed the Irishmen's finances.

It's not beyond the limits of credibility to suggest there could be clauses whereby a new investor takes more of the the shares of the others after promotion for a higher price,.

Spot on. That's the kind of thing I think prehab is hinting at. Someone else coming in and effectively taking over, the current owners (or at least some of them) retaining some shares because they want to get more money for them if and when we go up (at least one league, and then maybe holding a lesser % again until we hit the PL).

True! That's the trouble with these phrases. Why, if I didn't know any better, I'd almost think they were used specifically to cause confusion... 🤔

I agree a lot of the recent wording has skewed slightly towards the idea that someone external is involved somehow.

Think what he meant was at least 1 of the 3 amigos will be hanging around in some way with new people still coming in. The wording is from people who know what's going but not necessarily phrasing it correctly. I wouldn't know how to either

What of FPP will Donald have to payback there money out of his profit.
Aah the good old days, I remember him saying he wanted an open and honest dialogue with the fans.....
The pisstaking stops now, ohh yeh, I don’t think so 👌
i am sorry to say, he has given proof of funds on 2 occasions. that is the truth.
Again if WS has been taken seriously by Donald, it’s a total embarrassment, just like Campbell before that, it sums up where Donald is at, if he is or has been talking to these 2 losers about buying us, wow 😡 !!!!!

Some fascinating views on this subject on here, optimism, predictions, analysis, WUM's and of course pessimism based on decades of evidence of failure.
Hopeful that the club announcement brings a new hierarchy that will invest in the club and progress it rather than bring one in that will further ruin what's left for pure personal gain.
I can't help thinking that Ellis Short just MIGHT be involved somewhere, he has an affinity for the club, made his money buying/selling distressed assets, possibly has un-finished business with SD and hopefully has learned his lesson on how to run a club and make money. I'll pop my tin hat on and return to my beer filled bunker.

Personally i wouldn't be against this. He can't be faulted for his willingness to reach into his pockets.

Hopefully if he is involved then we get the right people in who can actually do the job, not just leech a wage.

Can’t see this myself - he’d have to be a screw loose to come in for a second helping. I have nothing but praise for his intent but the fact remains that he made fuck up after fuck up during his time here. To think ‘he’d get it right this time’ would be arrogance/ stupidity of an epic scale. If those claiming ‘positive news’ on the incomings are to believed then Ellis Short would not be that positive news.

Look I can't argue with that but strange things happen when money and maybe pride are involved. I'll add that "positive news" for many on here is only the departure of SD without considering the suitability of any replacement.

I would rather have Pol pot ,Hitler,Stalin,Mary Fekkin Whitehouse owning us rather than that bunch of cretins we have at the moment. They are a stain on our great club and we need to bleach and fumigate the feckers out of the club and get ready for the next bunch..... bleach at the ready in case they are another bunch of knackers..............

Yet we stayed in the PL for ten years!

Allegedly, when the announcement is made it will be exciting and will make a marked difference to SAFC’s immediate and longer term fortunes.
Vague, yes, but we need some optimism and the vibes at this moment in time are definitely very good.
It’s positive that even people supposedly close to the owners or with ‘contacts’ do not know real specifics in terms of names or the actual structure of the deal. This suggests the potential new incumbents are professionals with NDA’s in place and the loose lips that scuppered the FPP deal last year are as tight as can be hoped for.
However, after the disappointment of the FPP scenario, we should all bear in mind the business adage that “until it’s done, it’s not done”.
But, yes, exciting is the word. Let’s see....

Prehab said he knows but can't say as it would give away his contacts. Hoping it is a sign that names might be starting to leak though as he said he didn't know a few weeks ago

At extreme financial cost that would eventually be our undoing. Short wasn’t in charge for all of that time either. I have a lot of time for him and can’t criticise his intentions. There were some good times but he himself would be the first to admit that his tenure was characterised by missed opportunities, failed strategies, poor recruitment and wasteful expenditure.
