So if you dont believe him how is that not saying he is lying?

You dont believe him but he aint lying how the fuck does that work 😅😅
See how you’re trying to twist stuff like a shit stirrer? Get your tongue out his arse man.

ive always got on with the lad, and I believe HE has seen something, Ijust don’t trust it’s authenticity, just like what happened with Riv last year.

If that’s alright with you?

Aye its not me your claiming is making something up

The thing that that I can’t wrap my head around in all of this is the need for a NDA.

Like it’s common knowledge (hearsay) that someone is trying to buy the club, so why does it matter if we know who it is, or have confirmation that it is actually happening? The atmosphere between the fans owners is nothing short of toxic. The owners have told the fans the club is up for sale to the highest bidder. The fans don’t believe the owners. Surely it’s in everyone’s best interest to have a little transparency and announce discussions are ongoing isn’t it?

@Grumpy Old Man you’re a knowledgeable sort, what’s the benefit of the NDA in this scenario if a sale is actually happening?

They mightn't want their Twitter account bombarded by a load of window lickers.

Only thing I could think would be if they knew the fans would be unhappy if they knew who it was!

He isn't claiming that. He is saying he doesn't believe the original source, not the people passing it on.

Yep, like I said earlier, the only two reasons right now are that we wouldn't be happy (Sartori etc) or that they aren't that confident that the deal will be done.

Let's hope for an announcement of some sort this week, because this back-channeling is definitely not a great sign about who it may be, given it took them 16 weeks to get to this point.

It's 100% standard in any takeover situation. Frequently, companies may not want competitors/customers/employees etc to know a company is in play (probably not the case here, to be fair). More often it's the putative buyers who want to remain anonymous until the deal is completed. This can be for a variety of reasons. In the case of a football club, it's likely to be to prevent (even more) febrile speculation about the desirability or otherwise of any buyer, and to keep financial details confidential.
thanks mate. I’m not lying and neither is he. They’re emails from one of the sellers and whilst I know there is a distinct lack of trust in the current owners and they’ve lied to us all before, this would be an increasingly elaborate and pointless one to lie about. For that reason I’m hopeful. Which is why I’m posting on here to pass on a little hope.

I’m not lying mate. But I completely understand your cynicism. I’d probably be the same, we’ve had nothing good happen for 5+ years, it’s knocked all the positivity out of me. Let’s just all hope we get some good news soon for once

This for me. They're disliked enough without creating even more hate by creating speculation about something entirely fictional. The problem is that no deals are easy to complete, even where both buyer and seller are willing.

Improved accessibility infrastructure was talked about during the failed FPP takeover i.e. new footbridge over the Wear linking the stadium with the City centre. The new Foootbridge from the Vaux development is going to Government today for Waterway approval before final planning permission is granted by the council, all due to be constructed and installed by 2023. Is it possible that new (in waiting) owners are looking at this closely and waiting for the outcome of the Governments decision? You never know...

IF a takeover happens (which it probably won't) then nothing will change this season.

When was the last owner who did? Quinny? Who else?
How will nothing change this season? A takeover could revitalise the club.

I agree though that I dont think a takeover is anywhere near
