fair play. Interesting we had 5iar there marra but that was never a thing. 9 unbeaten at one point too. That 6 in a row for you lot levelled it right up since 96 fair play

Took my first wife to that game, it was her first ever match.
She said it was mental, fully grown men falling down the seats onto each other, hugging and kissing each other. Then after the game the stadium was bouncing, she couldn’t hear herself think for hours afterwards

At Norwich in 1977 when Bobby Kerr equalised, my mate said it was like a homosexuals convention with all the grown men hugging and kissing 😅😅😅

I drank with the legend Toontoon in Newcastle on the night.
I then slept in the dog basket when I got home after the wife dragged me in off the street as I was singing my head off.

Dug out my match programme for that day...Front cover pic of Richardson firing in an identical free-kick and hitting the woodwork at Fulham the previous week..Also a quote by Cisse "I always score on derby days",...and Keanos manager notes "We've a good chance of winning and if we can our supporters will enjoy their pints tonight" Roy lad, on behalf of the thousands who more than enjoyed their pints that night...thanks for the celebrations, and the memories.

I was right behind the goal when it went in.
That moment, and the final whistle, are 2 of my best memories as a Sunderland fan, and I've been going since the 70s.
I was right behind it too in the North stand Upper with my two lads! I was in tears at the end, as we're exiles and I hadn't seen us beat them for decades. I first went to Roker in '57, and in the next 40 years we were unbeaten by them when we were in the same division. (League games only- they were in a higher div 13 times; we were a class above 7 times) That 28 year stat is deceptive, as there were loads of draws and most of the 'wrong league' ones.
They had a good spell in the early 00s, which made that day so sweet, and to win it with a world class goal was just sublime. Happy Days!

As long as it's not possession as a tie breaker, otherwise they would win hands down.
