Did he watch Jason Roy opening in test cricket or not?

Not sure why you move Crawley after his double ton.

Plus Burns and Sibley probably the best opening pair since Strauss retired.

Christ, this thread will be another 4 pages of the usuals slagging off Bairstow for no reason.

Aye leave the openers as they are, I have major doubts about Rory Burns long term though, think Crawley will end up there.

Stange that he is now asking them to completely change their techniques that got them here in the first place

There is an argument amount opening with Crawley in India or Sri Lanka mind as its the best time to bat, not sure about UAE

Rashid is not a test bowler like, not sure how many times Bumble has said this

Reece Topley?

That is a really really mad column like, whats he been smoking?

I love bumble but that’s one of the most ridiculous columns I’ve read in a long time 😂

There’s absolutely no reason to change our batting line up at all for now unless Pope is still injured

Mad isn't it?

Yeah that is true, you always have to look though, and Crawley is an option now to open, and he has a higher ceiling than Burns or Sibley

that means if there is a special talent coming through, who has to be included, then we have the option of moving him up.

You can never tell with young players, some might get worked out.
There is always an argument for Bairstow at 7. He’s a talent.

He is never ever ever ever ever ever a test opener. He is too loose

Agreed, although you could change it, if we were in Sri Lanka, where spin is on with the new ball, best time to bad and you need to score.

in terms of England, SA, Australia, Windies etc, then aye absolutely no chance

On a side note, I reckon there is a chance Crawley could end up opening the 50 over stuff in India in 3 years time, wish I could put a quid on it.

I agree, he's the natural replacement for Roy or Bairstow if one loses form, and Roy does tend to stray onto the inconsistent side at times so I think there's a chance for Crawley in the not too distant future.

There’s an interesting column in The Cricketer this month saying that history says that Crawley will end up a modest test player, averaging 35.

As few players outperform their county stats in the test arena. And yes I know he’s young.

Yep. But it was a fair argument. The likes of Key and Gillespie have had test double tons.

You can tell from looking at Crawley that he's classy. He has a good technique and can play shots all around the wicket. I'm very surprised that an article would be suggesting that at this stage. For me, he looks a shoe in to have a very successful international career.

i was going to use it to slag off bumble to be honest. disappeared off into his own caricature a long time ago and just says nonsense to get attention imo
