Sadiq Khan - total tit

Begged for London to go into tier 2 restrictions this time last week.

Now he is trying to change tier 2 restrictions!

The man is f***ing idiot.

You haven't read/understood the article have you? He's arguing tier two means 10pm curfew is not needed. Hey i'm not sure he is right but it is a reasonable point. Made by scientists worried about 10pm crowds for instance

Tier 2 means 10PM restrictions. It has since it was introduced.

You simply can't ask for restrictions, some of which were already in place in several places (Sunderland for example) then cherry pick which restrictions you want.

As I said, he is a tit.

Mr Khan told Sky News that London as a whole should move into tougher restrictions, rather than adopting a "hyper-local" approach of different restrictions for different boroughs.

"We're keen to go as one as we can see the complexities and the confusion caused by some boroughs having additional restrictions and other boroughs having less," he said.

"Many Londoners work in one borough, live in another borough, study in another borough, go to a restaurant in another borough so we're really keen to go as one city."

Tier 1 have 10pm closures. Moving to tier 2 doesn't mean you're making a change to when pubs and restaurants close.

I have literally no idea what the point you're trying to make here like. Makes total sense for them to implement changes to restrictions as one city.

I hadn't realised tier 1 had a 10PM curfew too (living in tier 2 area that's all I was aware of).

However, the point still stands. You can't be asking for stronger restrictions one week then be asking for a special dispensation to relax restrictions for London a week later.

Yeah on the face of it, it does seem daft. However, if there is no evidence to.suggest 10pm closing is helping then I think you can ask for stricter measures (no mixing between households etc) and seek to relax the 10pm rule.

This is all about trying to find a balance between suppressing the virus and limiting damage to the economy. Its not easy.

Nobody suggesting it is easy. Is there evidence 10PM isn't working?

If that measure reduces cases by 2% then other measures also reduce cases by small amounts that will bring cases down. That is limiting the impact to the economy but still fighting the virus too.

One week he wants lockdowns, and now he doesn't. This fella is Mayor of London. I'd not have him doing the raffle draw in the local village club
I don't think he's saying he doesn't want tighter restrictions tbf. He's just questioning the 10pm pub closures.

You just criticise the bloke for the sake of it tbf.

I dont specifically know tbf mate. But there are certainly issues with overcrowding at 10pm in Central london which we've all seen pictures of.
