One I remember going to was Leeds away at Yorks ground. Pretty sure the club put on free buses as we could have won the league but may be remembering incorrectly.

I remember the north regional league best ,you could get Holands toffee in the clockstand for 3d a big bar aswell.

Not reserves but u18s. Best player I saw at that level was Daniel Sturridge. Frazier Campbell also stood out as a future star at Man U. Patrick Bamford also looked class for Forrest U18s.

Best player I saw from our youths was Grant Leadbitter. He was exceptional as a youth player

I was there, we moved down in 1993. Took my wife and two sons and 3 local lads in two cars, both cars got parking tickets. 28 coach loads from North East and loads of cars, about 50 Leeds supporters in the main stand, they were shitting themselves. Pubs and clubs were packed with Sunderland fans. Outside the ground the odd Leeds lot looked in shock. Sunderland packed two stands. Whoever won , would win the league. Peter Reid played our youths against Dirty Leeds who fielded Michael Bridges and about 4 first teamers. We lost not surprisingly. Another let down for the magnificent support.
Around that time we broke the Premier Reserve League attendance record at SOL against Man Utd, Milton Nunez introduction, crowd 33000 + and against Liverpool at SOL 30,000. The previous record held by Man Utd was 23000 for Eric Cantona’s return from his ban.

Definitely played in the North Regional league . Me Dad played in it for Ashington and Sunderland reserves were in it
Not saying we weren't ever in it mate, but in my day as a young un fan 65 - late 80s, the ressies played in the North Midland league v Boro, Rotherham, Barnsley, Bradford etc, and the Youths in the Northern Intermediate league.

Not wanting to contradict mate but we were winning the North Regional league as late as 69 and we were in the Central league well before the late 80’s

Blue for reserves. This game may not have happened. There is no year on the poster but the only Sat Dec 4th during the North Regional League era was 1965. 1965/66 programmes show Second team were to play Hull City that day. Later programmes still show Dec 4th Hull, but with no result. What happened?

Got to say I don't recall that poster type.
I recall the one that had 3 games on, first team, ressies and youths. Red on white. Maybe they replaced the blue on white later in 60s?

The North Regional League formed 58/59 with 19 teams. It got up to 22 teams at one point but by the time of its abandonment in 68/69,only 4 teams were in it. Gateshead fc won it one year, but Boro ressies and Hull ressies were winners a, few times. Wikipedia FACT.

Aye that’s what I’m saying mate

Late 70’s/ early 80’s we were in the Wearside Combination League.
I remember going to watch them at Murton and having the craic on the sidelines with Alan Brown who was watching. We had a lad with half an arm playing in midfield for us
Lad with half an arm was called Benson, decent player if I recall.got released never heard of him again.

Used to go back in the Roker Park days. Think it was called the Northern Intermediate league or something. Felt like we played Rotherham and Doncaster every other week, 200 or so used to turn up.
I saw Bridges make what I think was his reserve debut at RP against Villa. He looked a class act against some good players.

Was tim benson. he came on as sub v eeds in fa youth cup game at roker, we were getting beat 2-1 i think , terry connor was playing for leeds and sure he'd scored them both, benson came on and scored 3, won 3-2. Never heard of him again.
