This is turning into the Sugababes of threads. Eventually every member of the SMB will be required to take their turn at saying they have just heard that, 'a deal has never been closer'

You keep saying this. The fans would love nothing more than for the takeover to go through. There has been that many takeovers which have broken down the last few years you can hardly blame people for being sceptical. And literally nobody has told or said anything of note for us to actually believe it might happen.

lots of people have said snippets that would point towards a takeover having some traction.

There’s being sceptical then there’s itching to say I told you so.
 
I think we can all recognise one poster whose first reaction to any takeover will be to get on here and try and get one over on other people.

I mean my personal opinion is that something is happening, but I may well be wrong and I don't blame anyone for being pessimistic, particularly when the latest ITK sources are saying that what the original ITK sources said is not true. If it happens, good, but people getting invested in their information being correct would seem silly.
