I am sure you can park on site at the moment because of the lack of people in

not any more..,there has been a long running review ( on hold due to Covid)
Going to be a points based system based on caring responsibilities and distance from the office
Exclusion zones for people within a certain area of the office.

same review being done at WVP
Length of service deemed discriminatory
It's a shambles how long the review is taking. It started around mid 2018

there was also talk of WVP being in the same boat and smaller site “south of the Tyne” might be an option

aye was on the very first focus group the Geoff K did....went down like a f***ing lead balloon
Yeah they had a meeting with the Waterside House staff about it when I worked there.

Good, Benton Park is in the middle of nowhere. It doesn't fit in with the regional centre model unless you live in Newcastle.

remember being in a call on the first BOF conversations with someone from London as part of yet another focus group...their response was “Washington and BPV are only 14 miles apart”

she had clearly just looked on google maps....a few people pointed out a big fuck off river you had to cross

Info comes from a reliable source

there was a bidding process last year and I’m sure there was a few sites considered in Newcastle - arena, pilgrim st and possibly Gateshead quays. It was Part of the levelling up agenda by creating various regional hubs. It could have also been used a mechanism to negotiate with the current landlord.

I will lose my parking pass at WvP when the changes are made.

Out of interest how many people work at WVP? One of the few big sites I’ve not worked at across Sunderland/Washy/Newcastle

yep me too...will just park in side streets...really early starter so my likely option

I can't complain, I live close enough to walk in. It 'll only be a pain when it's raining or in the winter.

Breaking ground for a 14 storey office block in Pilgrim Street in the next couple of weeks. Don’t think it’ll be suitable for HMRC like.

Don't know what happened there haha

Any parking for staff? Just got myself a job offer, no start date for the time being but it only now occurred to me that I don't know the area at all. It's already a canny long commute so it'd be a bit of a ballache if I had to also get a metro or something.
Slim chance if your a new starter.
At present though if your not working from home you may get a space
