Local lockdown

That’s the other thing as well, people seem to think if you’re 2m away from someone you have no chance of catching the virus when actually it’s just a reduced risk which we have deemed to be an acceptable level to maintain daily lives .
Only time I’m 2m away from anyone at school is when I first arrive at 7.30am on a morning

When there is a vaccine, or people like yourself follow the rules instead of having the intention to ignore them.

I've followed the rules for 6 months, living on my own, unable to visit my parents (initially). What use did that do? Using your ridiculous logic (follow the rules, normality returns) then we should be back to normal? As we're clearly not then I'm going to suggest your logic doesn't work!

Our lives became totally insignificant overnight and we've since turned into robots to keep an ecomony going.

Many might be happy with that, I'm not.

Glad to see more and more people waking up to this utter sham. This is the problem with accepting shit like masks, it always leads to some other bullshit like this and you end up not being able to get back where you were pre-virus - normality. If they're going to "restrict" an entire region based on 1 death today and a few hundred cases then the only way this ends is an enforced vaccine and that's not a road we want to go down either.
You've changed your tune, you were in favour of lockdown before the government announced it.

Because the test Isn't 100% proof that you don't have it, it could take days before symptoms show themselves
Sports teams do it every day then isolate those who test positive. This would stop whole year groups being isolated as is happening.

another world class system not fully working.

I sense a pattern here

Might have kept you and your parents alive?

Sitting in the house getting paid, that’s the ultimate goal from them.

NHS has thought they have won the lottery, this is the stick they have dreamt of to bash the country with.

I’m part of the WFH folk and it certainly hasn’t been a doss, I’ve no doubt it has been for some people and I can’t say I haven’t had quieter spells but it’s been more or less business as usual.

So far there's two people posting on this thread who work in education. We've both got similar views on this.

When you're stuck in a classroom for 6 hours a day, there comes a point where life must go on. There's no chance I'm spending my day with other people's kids to be told I can't then spend an hour with a mate after work.
How will your opinion change if the country ends up back in lockdown and there is no furlough money, will you want the school to stay shut?
