Local lockdown

If the lockdown measures the chronicle are saying is going to happen, come to fruition, then I’d hazard a sizeable majority will ignore them.

northumbria police don’t attend burglaries. Not a chance they will raid the local play park because someone’s standing chatting to their friend and their kids

disagree

I love the boozer more than anyone but I feel fucked off that we have taken 3 or 4 steps back in our recovery all because of dickheads in pubs.
Aye. I don’t see how three or four new weeks of closure will kill the pub trade anyway. People need to take a bit short term inconvenience for long term good.

So the whole of Northumberland a county which is 5,013km² is getting locked down because of 95 cases in the past week. I respect why lockdowns are needed but surely locking villages like Rothbury and Otterburn isn't going to help anyone; the majority of the cases have been based in Stakeford / Bedlington Station. What a joke tbh and how to cripple the economy.

Similar story for County Durham which has been focused mainly on the North East of the county there's no need to lockdown Barnard Castle or Weardale with these stupid rules.

This will be ignored no doubt about that and in areas where there's been no cases then I don't blame people. It's ott by Forbes and the clueless gang in the centre of Newcastle who have too much control lately.

Teach a 1000 plus kids but can’t meet a mate in public, have my mother look after my youngest etc

Good luck policing that boris

Unfortunately you can't blame Boris on this one, you'll need to take up with the local Labour councils.

There’s not enough police to even police it really.

Can honestly see people losing patience with all these restrictions. I've complied up to now but I'm pissed off with it now, parents anniversary on Saturday, had planned a meal and a few drinks 6 of us in total.. parents, sister and husband and us.. I'm at the point now where I think fuck it, just go out as planned. The people in charge have made a complete arse of this from the outset and it's not getting better. If I can go to work ( like I have all the way through) then I'm going to see my parents and sister.. they're all we've got left..

Don't agree with it, but if it's this or full lockdown in a couple of weeks I'll take this. If it's ignored they'll just shut businesses to ensure we can't mingle.

Me too. I live alone and have complied with the regulations all along. I haven’t seen let alone been out with friends since February. The only “hobby” I partake in outside of work (currently working from home) is going to the gym, so the idea of that closing would practically tip me over the edge at this point.
