I have a really good mate who is pretty high up in the HMRC and its 100% still ongoing. The reason its taking so long is due to all the solid evidence they are collating

It might not come to out but people saying its not ongoing etc are way off the mark
which HMRC office does he work at?

That was the most worrying thing for Mags fans. You only put a provision in where the expectation of having to pay up is higher than the possibility of non-payment. I'd have expected the note of a contingent liabliity, noting a risk that's less than 50% likely to arise.

Minor technical note: it was a provision, not an accrual. An accrual is a recognition of an existence of a liability, which is known, but no yet invoiced by a supplier (like a proportion of the next gas bill). A provision is an estimate of a liability likely to arise, but not yet quantifiable with 100% accuracy.
Technical note indeed correct, I should have known better that to trust the chronical implicitly without looking into it.

The worrying thing for mags fans, shoud be, that most of them seem too blinkered and / or stupid to realise the meaning of this.

Of course it is.

It comes to an end when HMRC says so, not some illiterate mag gonk on the internet.

bookmark this and ill hold my hands up if proved otherwise

you have to fly from newcastle to get to spain
Is that the Newcastle airport that is owned 51% by seven local authorities , 6.5 miles from Newcastle city centre?

Of course it is bookmarked.

Have you not got a game on tonight btw?

Oh, also , City of Sunderland, and Durham County Council are included in the 49% ownership

I signed up last year and had nothing to do with any takeovers

I will say one thing for youse though in the highly unlikely event you ever get above NUFC in the next decade you will certainly have earned the right to give it out. The amount of grief you lot have took and the sheer laughing stock on the pitch that you have put up with over the last few years is commendable to be fair

We could drop down to the Wearside League and still wouldn't match the laughing stock your fans have made/are making of themselves mind.

Is it 2017 again? Been hearing this off you lot for about 3 years and nowt has happened. It’s only on here it even gets mentioned nowadays

Whatever it was is long gone

the ghurst of arca. Competing for top 10 in the bitterest table. I must say @Ghandi Floss is a massive exemption I made. Bitter as they come
HMRC will pursue the case in due course. These things can take years and years mate. If they haven’t given notice they aren’t taking any further action which they haven’t, then you'd be wrong to assume it’s gone away.
