Taking the knee was a sign of defiance, what's that got to do with No Room for Racism?

If you want to take it that way, I'm interested to know what that it has to do with it.
Unless the two are not linked at all and I've totally missed something.

Got to be honest mate I was very sympathetic at first as I think the vast majority of the country was. What changed my outlook somewhat was the horrible little scrotes scrambling all over the cenotaph and attempting to burn it’s flags.

It only takes the actions of a few morons to completely change a lot of the population’s opinion unfortunately.

Now we are all as divided as ever, probably more divided than at any point in my lifetime. It’s put race relations back decades IMO.

You are almost there, BLM is deliberately provocative I agree. It's done more harm than good. There is much better run organisations with clear achievable aims and transparent use of donated funds. The focus should absolutely be on social care and education. This movement has some very valid reasons to be unhappy through the systematic oppression the occured in former generations. This has somewhat been taken care of but there is still lingering problem that knock on effect for generations. That is what most people are unhappy about, not this media driven hyped up bullshit that's designed to divide people. Just look at america, they've fell for it hook line and sinker. We need to recognize the issues, admit them and move forward to address them. It's really not that big if a deal.

Compare it to women's suffrage. Many people were pissed, but ultimately it was exactly the right thing to do. Everyone is equal and should be treated as such.

Black people being killed by white police officers is so rare that it's basically a non-issue, particularly when compared with other genuine issues in the black community. It only gets hyped up so much because the left and groups like BLM like to explot such events to divide people and race-bait. None of these people (who are mostly white liberals) give a fuck about the black community as evidenced by the continued decline of cities such as Baltimore, Chicago etc (run by Democrats). Where's all the white people taking a knee and protesting about the number of black people murdered by other black people each year in the US? Can't explot it for political purposes so they don't give a fuck, that's why there's no protests.

As has been mentioned, it’s a few idiots. I could see that and I would hope others would too (not as many idiots who turned up a day later and started laying into the police, mind).

These people haven’t put race relations back decades, I’m afraid – it’s the racists who continue to do that.

As far as I'm concerned, if a statue has been set up to honor a slaver, a Confederate general, etc., especially if it was erected in the latter half of the 1800s or early 1900s as a way to publicly honor the white hegemonies in the Southern US, then they can all come down now. And yes, it IS about erasing history -- a history of white on black genocide. A history of horrific, citywide massacres in the South of blacks. A history of unpunished lynchings. Fuck anyone who say this is about 'Southern Pride'.

Taking the knee was to raise awareness of social injustice. Racism is a form of social injustice.

No-one who is supporting the anti racism message today has come out and said, Black people want to avoid police action. That's 100% your own twist on the subject.
