i don't really follow t20 so thats quite the shock. i did watch the lowlights of england's fielding in ysterday's match which he was included in
 
The problem with T20 is there’s not a proper way of measuring quality through the stats.

Malan is clearly a good T20 player, but he’s not that good. Might help him earn a bit of coin next time the IPL Auction comes round, but he wouldn’t be in my team.

Yeah of course. These rankings can sometimes be a bit weird as well. His record is astonishing thus far like, highest average of any player ever
 
The rankings in any form of cricket, are mainly based on form and therefore there is a distortion between those who are actually consistently top class players, and those who just happen to have had either a good run of form, or have played more games than others of late.

The cream will usually rise to the top, but tbh I don't think they are worth any credence at all.

Totally with you, you simply can’t argue with the stats and his start, however it’s far too early to get carried away and imo despite his stats, there is 6 better T20 batsman than him in this country, said it on another thread Adam Voges after 31 test innings has a fanastic average of 61, but at least 30 Aussie batsman who played test cricket better players than him.

Voges stat padded against weak sides at home. Well the windies away too averaged 542 against them

Malan has scored home and away against some of the best sides in the world

Only Hales and Morgan have more half centuries for England and he managed it in 14 games. Nearly went level with Hales after 15

Yeah of course Malan stats up to now ,simply brilliant that cannot be disputed.

But it’s the point I am making that over a short period stats don’t tell the full picture otherwise with him been rated number 1, we would class him better than Kholi, Rohit, Warner, Buttler when he simply isn’t.
Tbh I have absolutely no idea where them 4 are ranking but there a lot better players imo.

That’s based off their IPL performances year in year out
