You have no idea what wages they're paying. I don't think they're overpaying on fees (but everyone has their own view).

Players being relegated means nothing. For every Larsson, you have an Andy Robertson. For every Wickham, there's a Defoe. For every Gardner, there's a Wijnaldum.

Well, yes, but none of the successes were signed by Steve Bruce.

Will never understand this logic. Good players can and do get relegated. Playing in a poor team doesn’t make them a poor player. Buying players of relegated teams if anything is better as you get them at a knockdown price
I’m not talking about all relegated players. Just the ones that had a down year and were part of a relegated side?

that french day man
Onions and everything 😂😂😂
Lifting team that. Champo written all over it. Least there is a few players to come back from injury and hopefully a few new signings. If so we will probably scrape 15th. Can’t wait
17th is about where you should be given you're not a very BIG club. Teetering and hoping to stay up 2nd last weekend. So 15th is an ambitious prediction. I'll say 17th but hopefully bottom. We wont make the Play offs with Parkiola in charge

The waiter, to get out of the champo then it hasn't had much investment in the 3.5 years since

Darlow, Yedlin Fernandez, Hayden, Manquillo, Barlaser, Sean Longstaff, Murphy, Almiron, Saint-Maximin, Carroll Add to that Muto and Atsu who came on also signed after promotion. A quick check of the fees they were brought in for see's approx £60 million worth of "talent" there from the great one. Of the rest of the list Hayden and Yedlin also RB signings and 2 youth products in there. ASM is apparently your best player, not looking good until the reinforcements bought with no ,oney from Ashley come in eh?

Joelinton, Maximin and Almiron

I mean how much did them 3 cost alone???

£90 - £100 million based on prices quoted at time. NET SPEND though.

to be fair some of our fans were a bit like that with Short, even in our last prem season people moaning we had spent nout, despite being in £150m in debt from overspending

Mags are worse at it, I reckon they'd rather be in debt and at financial risk

Most of our fans wanted the best team possible. NET SPEND hasn't been mentioned by any fanbase until they brought it up to use against Ashley. Our recruitment was poor at best, if we sold players for profit and reinvested it we'd have been happy imo.

I would have, and that is how any football team outside the huge ones needs to be run, not convinced our fans would like. But I totally agree with your point, never heard net spend before that
