I’ve been saying this all along. Barnes isn’t a reporter so doesn’t have his “sources”. His knowledge of what is going on inside the club comes from the people he gets to interview, in this case it was Donald, so whatever he reports is coming directly from them I.e. whatever the club wants him to report.

it’s not his fault like tbf and he does seem like a nice bloke so he doesn’t deserve any kind of abuse. He’s just allowed Donald to use him, should have been a bit more cautious in dealing with him rather than giving him the easy ride he has done.

Also, how does he know the opposition first eleven before a matchday for his colouring book? Amazing foresight.
Of course he’s a journalist. He’s a full time employee of the BBC-what do people think he does between matches? Commentate to himself?

When Short sold the club to Donald it was pretty much done in 6 weeks and look at the mess that got us into. I hope the new owners are diligent enough to take their time and know what a shit show they are getting themselves into before they sign on the dotted line. I want the right owners for the right reasons no matter how long it takes.

I didn't say it was 100% bullshit, just that people are shooting the messenger before they even know if it's real or not, but even if it turns out to be bollocks, Barnes was still right to pass it on given the source was presumably Donald or as close to him as possible.

Derailed start of last season IMO, but resulted in the "loan" Identical scenario playing out now, lets see what happens thats all we can do.

:lol: He doesn’t know the opposition first eleven before a match day. He puts their last team on the left page with some factoids and when he gets the team on the day at the same time as anyone else he writes it in the space on the next page.

Agree with most that the word Journalist shouldn't be mentioned in connection with Barnes. People also saying he's a commentator, I hugely disagree, he shouldn't be getting grief for takeover stuff online but should for the standard of his "commentaries" IMO
 
Irrespective of Barnes background as a commentator, he clearly fancied himself as a journalist when he asked Storey to come on the show and also had an interview with Steward Donald. He failed miserably because he never asked questions that we needed answering. Unless of course people were expecting him to say "Storey, on the left now, passed the toilets, he's in the lobby, there's a chair free in the middle, he goes for it and its in. A great run by William Storey finished off nicely"
Imagine him as a detective,

Not writing him off like, and really not meant to be a criticism, but do think there's a lot of people expecting more than what we're getting. Right age and profile for us undoubtedly but there's a lot of faith being put in his one cap and fancy foreign name imo.
