He actually said he was close to signing tbf. Which a few other folk have said the same since.
Russian and American businessmen do many many deals together. Economies are integrated in many ways, as is the UKs.I'm not convined at all by Magnus....He said Garbutt was close to signing a 3yr deal about a week ago.....I also cannot see a Russian & an American owning the same club, especially with the Russian only having 6%....He's just another itk wannabee getting people's hopes up imho
Bless you.Arsenal?
He did say Luke Garbutt had agreed a 3 year deal.

I’m not defending the fella at all and I have no idea who he is. But I got told exact same this time last week.

If I get optimistic news, I’ll instantly believe it.Magnus over the road just posted:
"So if this is wrong I’ll be gutted,
but been told a deal has been agreed in principle, a few things to iron out
got everything crossed "
Surely we would be hearing a lot more of it if a deal was agreed in principle, probably still have Donald here this time next year

Ahh! Makes sense. So optimism of a deal being done before the start of the season may be misplaced? If it was watertight, we'd be hearing nothing at all. A deal agreed in principle is the start point of negotiations, not the end. That would normally precede due diligence. They're often called heads of agreement, but more often than not, it's simply a borad agreement on price.
