I like Joe Denly, I really do. He seems a nice guy and he did well in test cricket

it’s such an odd selection for t20s tho.

- he’s 34 already
- his domestic record is decent enough
- with the bat he strikes at less than 100 and averaged less than 10 in T20 internationals
- he’s bowled 11 overs in 12 matches, so they don’t trust him with the ball

It's staggering that he is continued to be selected in the limited over squads, I genuinely can't understand what he brings to the squad. If he was 5 years younger I'd give him the benefit of the doubt, but there's no way he'll be playing in any future ICC tournament so it's a complete waste of a selection.

1 year younger than Plunkett who was sacked off unceremoniously

There are some erm, experienced, lads in the Pakistan side anawl mind. Hafeez, Riaz and Malik seem to have been around forever

Wahab Riaz as well. Sure there was a story that Jonathan trott and him had a disagreement,
Aye it would appear so. Don’t recall it myself and if you were to pick to cricketers you’d expect to have a scrap it wouldn’t be those two!

hsve you never asked why he gets t20 deals round the world???

people obsessed with age man, who cares how old they are

Morgan wants him, get over it
Never mind Vince, where is Hales? Was absolutely destroying the bowling in the Big Bash and PSL. Rehabilitate him in the team and move on FFS.

agreed with this

just petty by Morgan

he needs to just say he ain’t playing while I’m captain instead of this nonsense on trust
Denly again ffs  he must have something on someone at the ECB.

excellent t20 player

hence why he gets IPL and t20 deals,Morgan what’s him

obviously SMB knows better than our worldcup winning Captain

Denly has played 12 T20 internationals, in 11 innings he averages less than 10 with a strike rate under 100 and he's bowled 11 overs.

It may well be that he's come in with a few balls to go but that strike rate isn't good enough if that's the case and the bowling figures suggest Morgan doesn't trust him with the ball. He has a lot to prove internationally.
