Don’t think you can put Harte in the same category as Steel. At least Harte can make double figures :)
Steel is three years younger than Harte and still has better career stats.

Harte has had more false dawn's than SAFC. Glimmers of quality followed by a season of mediocrity.

He's poor but no worse than Harte or C Steel and a damn sight better than Poynter.

about poynter i don't disagree, i've already said as much earlier.

jeez, you know you're shit when you're a specialist batsman and you're getting dropped for poynter.

sorry if the mother of either player are reading this.

totally disagree about harte and steel mind. both have much better career numbers despite harte being pretty poor until the last season or so and steel being pretty poor for the last season or so. burnham has been poor his whole 'career' 70 odd innings and an average of 25 with no sign of improvement. talk about potential all you like but i don't see him fulfilling any of it
50 for Coughlin - get him opening!!
Second batting point.
Ton partnership.:eek::eek:

nice to see ned get a decent knock in anarl

Coggers so unlucky :(

312-7. Partnership was worth 157. (155-6 before that).

Edit - 2 in the over. Potts for 0. 312-8.

fantastic knock in the situation. i just came on to see if ned had passed 50 looking to say 'go on and double it'. good 90 for coggers.

such a funny quirky game cricket, where players can get criticised for doing well - not that you have, but i was just thinking generally, when a top order player is having a bit of a lean spell, gets 90 odd and people say he should have made a 100. i love cricket

Coggers should’ve made a hundred, not because I’m saying it, but for himself - he looked gutted when he chopped on, it was there to cut in fairness but it probably didn’t bounce as much as he thought - he’d done all the hard work really, him and Eckersley came to the crease with us in bother and more than doubled the total.

Top efforts. Reminiscent too of another time he and our wicketkeeper came together and rescued us (Lancashire at home in 2014).

Looks like Marty was right on Comms when he said before a ball was bowled that he had been told this was a better batting wicket.
Well done Coggers, Ned and Vic. Now all we need is a spinner.

Indeed. The term used was ‘flat’ so atleast now, thanks mainly to Lees, Coughlin and Eckersley we’re at a competitive total.

Rain appears to have eased, groundstaff poised to remove the covers.
Never mind Marty, I told you all 300 plus was incoming.

Hope you got a tenner on it

Cant see much chance of there been any more play today.:(

Nah, reckon that’s it for the day now like. They were due back on at 3 and then the heavens opened about a minute before that.

Forecast for tomorrow is iffy, forecast for Tuesday is horrific.

Get your money on the draw!
______

Hoping for a 17:30 resumption, with 20 overs left in the day. Outfield is still a bit damp.

I reckon we should declare, get them in tonight and get stuck in!
