No problem with throwing Michael Jones in, given our batting problems, but Poynter as a batter? Seriously?

Why not put Trev in?
I hope Poynter does well but it's a baffling decision.
True but even Bancroft struggled last season in red ball cricket on the Riverside minefield

726 runs in FCC but only 154 in 9 inns. @ 17 at home - I dont know what the hell has happened to the wicket down there.
The biggest issue the club has got is the wickets and has been for a while.

No matter what happens from here, Lees has been excellent. The one plus point in an otherwise horrific batting lineup.
Batted well again. This technique he uses of batting outside off stump to the medium Pacers bowling around the wicket definitely works. We could do with another left hander batting up the order!

Batting well here Lees and Harte they looked comfortable.

Didn't think I'd ever say this but you're almost relieved we don't have to watch this batting line up, Take Lees , Bellingham and Harte out of it and there doesn't seem to be another batsman at the Club capable of getting to ten.. I'm afraid Dickson, Jones, Clark, Steel, Poynter, Burnham wouldn't get in any other county line up at the moment.
Although this is a truncated short season our lack of batting depth should be a major concern to the Club hierarchy

steel has gone backwards massively, looked full of promise at one stage. hopefully he can come good,i know it's irrelevant really but seemed a nice lad when he did the members forum whenever that was

Good recovery. 35-3 is the starting point every game. Thankfully it’s only a couple more games. I fear when we lose Rushy and very little that would worry batsmen

He’s been poor for two seasons. He needs replacing. Hopefully Dickson is only a loan I would be gutted to see him here next season

Dickson is on a 2 year deal.

Durham Cricket is delighted to announce the signing of Kent opening batsman Sean Dickson on a two-year deal.

Dickson will join the club on loan for the remainder of Durham’s 2020 season and will be eligible to play in both red and white ball formats this summer.
