The Elephant Man with John Hurt for me;

I watched it on pirate video as a bairn and it proper traumatised me, I've no doubt its a very good film and well made but I've never brought myself to watch it again and very probably never will.
its heartbreaking stuff

for me
gladiator
seven
LOTR
Withnail
That’s a bit mental that like. Shelley Duval is brilliant in it. She never mentally recovered from what Kubrick put her through it is said.
Kubrick was crazy...the was a play on R4 a couple of moyhs back(more of a re enactment as it was written and acted by the guy involved) about the recording of the voiceover for the trailer for FMJ ....crazy stuff

All 3 mate.

I respect your right to to not enjoy it but Duvall acts very well in it. She’s part of one of the most famous scenes in film history. She must deserve some credit for that.
That's what I said though. A movie is more than an acting workshop . Beyonce albums are full of the best musicianship on the planet.

Can’t have a bad word said about Kubrick me. It’s all about visuals he creates and a feeling that things are wrong. Think of you watch it all the way through it does make a lot of sense but it is a concept he’s trying to create and it does take some imagination
All in the visual symbols with him; class - every picture's like code cracking and how can you not like Deltoid, Mam, Mr. Alexander the lefty barmpot in the wheelchair and Michael Bates as the screw.

People haven't twigged that A Clockwork Orange is comedy all this time.
I’d have been banned if I’d have said a film was shit on here and told I’m winding folk up so changed the angle. I do that and it’s too hard to follow For most. What can I do
I'm up to page 3; two secs

Some people don’t see the likes of the carpet pattern In overlook or the seating in moloko. It’s not enough of a slap in the face for them. Bloke was a proper artist. Probably an absolute bastard to work for but he put them actors in films that will always be watched as long as we’re around.

Gotta admit watched first time all the way through in 4k Dolby vision the other week and I was left underwhelmed big time, the acting bar jack Nicolason is f***ing atrocious.
Piss off man  - did you see Phil Stone's scene in the red bathroom as Grady

Kubrick always had that fucker in the mixer somewhere.
