That’s a bit mental that like. Shelley Duval is brilliant in it. She never mentally recovered from what Kubrick put her through it is said.
To use a comparison you get the best band and go into the studio and produce your work and all your devotees love it and dissect its every note and meaning and someone will just say ,no thanks , thumbs down.You can act the best you ever have and still not win everyone over .
 
I had high hopes about Enemy at the Gates which I watched for the first recently. Generally spoken of highly and held in good regard.

Agree with that one. Liked it when I first saw it aged 13/14. Difficult to take seriously rewatching as an adult.
I enjoyed the book.

I respect your right to to not enjoy it but Duvall acts very well in it. She’s part of one of the most famous scenes in film history. She must deserve some credit for that.
