The cap is a convenient excuse to refuse to spend from our current owners who never had any intention of spending in any case.

New owners will not be put off by such trivialities nor will they be unable to do the necessary to get us out of this festering pustule of a league.
And alternatively, having a salary cap may actually help facilitate a deal. A new buyer will now know exactly how much they have to spend each year on salaries - it’s not variable anymore.

Having a cap on percentage of income does the same But the smaller teams won’t go for that as the reason for a wage cap isn’t about fairness but hamstringing the larger clubs in the division.

But on the contrary they might see it as a restriction to their ambition.

If the club was sold next at the end of the month for example theres not much a new owner could do for the playing side with the salary cap in place. Too close to the season to change the manager imo and the January window could be a non event given most team will be maxed out

only this year if we go up though, and then all hell breaks loose in championship when the cap isn’t there and we need to buy most of a squad again

I'm almost positive that there was a post way back on this thread that suggested the three Dubai based businessmen were originally from the UK and moved out there.

Might be wrong like. Just trying to put 2 and 2 together, despite Ireland not even being in the UK.
I’ve no idea whatsoever who or what they are but I do know people in Dubai and being Dubai based doesn’t automatically mean Middle Eastern ownership. I don’t care who or what they are mind if they are committed and savvy. Local doesn’t always mean bes as long as they appoint well but a long commitment to the development club for me Is a necessity.

They'd just be able to offer bumper promotion bonuses
