Why didn't Donald reject them from the outset mate. If he knew this ex-player was involved from the start why wouldn't he just not entertain them from the off and let them get this far and then get petty?

As mentioned it depends what other offers he had at the time. Keen to leave, bid comes in from a group involving someone he doesn't like, he probably thinks he needs to proceed with it. If it then transpires that he might be able to get similar money from other sources, and isn't arsed about doing the best thing for the club, then he'd be in a position where he can play the arse.

If MG's group was the only option he'd have to take it, now there is another bidder who he doesn't have a beef with and I'd probably being pushed for by Rodwell who wants to keep his job.

Presumably he knows how unpopular it would be to sell to the fizzy pop fantasist rather than a wealthy consortium backed by ex players. Maybe he's trying to get them to walk away so he can sell to Storey instead and say he had no choice.

If Rodwell is pushing Donald towards Storey then he must be hopeful he'd pass the fit and proper owners test. I know that has been shite in the past and loads of bad owners have been permitted but maybe the EFL are now under more scrutiny than ever so would be more careful. I know it was mentioned Rodwell was on the committee who let Donald in but he can't have any friends left at the EFL as would have had more clout with the season ending on PPG (which fucked us) and the salary cap (which will fuck us).
