People are so easily led. Nothing but soundbites, the same as Don and co when they arrived.

What are people being led to or by?

Surely it's just speculation until we have an owner?

If he somehow manages to own the club then the money is there which blows the "fantasist" claims up. If he doesn't, then no harm done.

f***ing hell, imagine being so easily swayed, that one interview with Nick Barnes (during which he didn't actually say anything substantial) is enough to make you ignore the fact that he is a fantasist, a laughing stock, a businessman without any product or any cash, with less in the bank than most of this board, who has been repeatedly sacked from positions he has found himself in, who has been criticised as a liar in court, who has promised and failed to deliver in other sports.

Honestly, how are people so stupid? When did people lose the ability of critical thinking?

And your negative speculation is based on what?
Wish lads like u would post solid FACTS about him instead of oooh he's a fantasist, publicity seeker, chancer... fhs man

1. Rich Energy's bank balance is Β£581. (No figures missed off).
2. Rich Energy haven't filed any accounts - even though they are overdue - since 2018.
3. It is impossible to purchase Rich Energy in any shop that I have ever been in.
4. An F1 team went into administration when he was claiming to be interested in buying them because they knew he wasn't credible.
5. When he went to court for stealing the logo of Whyte Bikes, the judge found that he was dishonest- her comments are worth repeating as he seems to have pulled the same stunt on our fans here:
"I found both Mr Storey and Mr Kelly [Storey's friend and logo designer] to be poor witnesses. Mr Storey provided different and inconsistent accounts of the development of [the Rich Energy logo], which also conflicted to a large extent with the evidence of Mr Kelly. He often did not answer questions directly, preferring to make speeches about his vision for his business or alternatively seeking to evade questions by speaking in generalities or in the third person plural. He only answered several questions when I intervened. He had a tendency to make impressive statements, which on further investigation or consideration were not quite what they seemed."
6. He claimed in court that he had sold 90 million cans of his drink. He changed that to three million.
7. He sponsored an F1 team then fell out with the owners of the team, and the other shareholders in his own company.

Burden of Proof rests with the person making the extraordinary claims NOT with the people who are sceptical.
Claims his Rich Energy company is valued at Β£100 million but declines to name the bank that did the valuation. Accounts are long overdue at Companies House - no reason given.
Claims four major backers but cannot name them (just like the F1 fiasco).
Why is his drink not available in shops ?
All reasonable reasons to be sceptical about him and not to give him the benefit of doubt.

Have a look on his website, the address given is essentially β€˜round the back of Morrison’s, by the bins, Stratford upon Avon’
Good grief.
So you can buy clothing from his site but not the actual drink.
The state of that web site tells you all you need to know about this bloke.

At first I thought the guy was an idiot and a chancer and this was all one big publicity stunt

But having listened to his interview on Radio Newcastle, Im now unsure.

I thought he came across fairly well... And saying he would only be investing 20 per cent while the other members put up 80 per cent has allayed some fears. He seems a genuine football fan.

The huge negative is why would he call the people you are trying to a deal with financial locusts. It's a crazy way of doing business and if I was Stewart Donald and I heard that interview I wouldn't entertain him. He seems very brash and outspoken but I do think this is a genuine bid

He mentioned 2 figures in his consortium have been involved in sports management.

I'm going to take a wild guess without any inside knowledge who one may be

Jack sullivan... The West Ham owners son... Here's why Storey is a West Ham fan who is good friends with David Sullivan. Storeys drinks firm sponsered West Ham Ladies while Jack Sullivan was manager. And in a interview I read with David Sullivan jnr he said Jack was more likely to run a football club than David jnr.

Have you not bothered to read up about his Formula 1 stuff & court cases etc?

I listened to that interview last night with an open mind & found it pathetic to be honest. He remembers watching Gabbiadini & Brace FFS, of course he does. Shades of Methven as well having a go at the mags to try and win a few over. Sounds like another total con man to me. For the record I was dubious from day one about Donald & Methven & I will remain highly dubious about this.

My favorite bit of the Judge's comments regarding Storey's evidence in the High Court case with Whyte Bikes reads;
"For reasons which I set out below, I am satisfied that some of Mr Storey's evidence was incorrect or misleading and that he was involved in the manufacture of documents during the course of litigation to provide additional support for the Defendants' case." :D:D:D

Fined for stealing Whyte bikes logo and has never paid apparently.

Have no idea about him butbri h energy will have a lot more than Β£581 or they wouldn't be sponsoring motor racing and superbikes

They had Β£581 in the bank at the time of the last accounts. It's a matter of public record.

Probably true but its very strange that any company should appear to be reluctant to show that it has a healthy set of figures when not doing so will only lead to suspicion.
Thousands of companies publish their figures each year its not considered to be a big deal but a failure to do so is. Reasonably so in my opinion.
