Anyone owned an Aston Martin before?

You can get that upgraded to Apple Car Play/Android Auto using the same screen. The Garmin thing it uses is awful.

Well you’re sorted then, Apple play is the boyo.

Only been in one once, went to a meeting with someone at work who had one. Moaned about the sat nav most of the way there.

I saw an Aston Martin drive down a street in seaburn once, looks nice in what I assume is British Racing Green...

Yes and it was absolutely fantastic
Wish I had kept the box it came in as that increases the value of Matchbox cars loads
I had one as well, the James Bond one, it had an ejector seat. Sometimes I wish my car had an ejector seat for the missus:)

Some pretty good deals on the Rapide (8 year old).

Be interested to know if anyone can share any experience on reliability, servicing, parts, tyres etc.

Thanks

A pal of mine had just completed a lucrative piece of work so bought a 7 year old Rapide a couple of years ago.

He got it from an Aston dealer so it came with a bullet proof warranty .

The bloody thing lived in that dealership for nigh on 6 months.

Electric windows
Rear door leakage
Boot opener
Etc

He still loved the car but was a bit disappointed with the quality issues.

I did . I took it around the track on may occasions and had quite a few spins in it too. It was the best Scalextric car I ever had.The brushes went eventually.

Thanks mate, interesting and worrying at the same time.

One of the top Aston Dealerships/Approved Independent Garages is near Stanley IIRC.

Im sure if you gave them a call theyd discuss it with you all day long. They do everything from repairs to full restoration and probably know more about Aston Martins than anyone online

Unless you are very lucky and very good with spanner’s, owning an old classic is often a very expensive hobby.
