I thought Broad was a bit unlucky not to be picked for that test, however the over the top nonsense, of how he was feeling and thought about retiring is attention seeking nonsense, he is a professional sportsman, who answered his critics with his performances in the second and third test, he should have just left it at that.

I don’t think they are at all. They’re managing his workload which is sensible.

Why would they want to retire a player who’s form in the last couple of years is as good as anyone’s in the world? I’ve never heard so much nonsense. It’s true they want to find more game time for the next generation so the transition when Anderson and Broad do leave isn’t as bad as it might be. He will get rested again in the future and he can spit his dummy out as much as he likes.

It’s complete nonsense and makes no common sense whatsoever, you have a world class bowler who wins you games which in turn enhances your reputation as a selector.
