Know all journo George #cans Caulkin is very quiet isn’t he, along with all the other Mag Media journalists who said nothing about any Saudi murders, human rights abuses, medieval treatment of women and minorities etc..

All those hardcore black and whiters in the local media saw was the chance to report on THEIR club buying superstars, travelling around the world and looking down on SAFC.

Caulkin in particular should be truly ashamed of himself, given that every other piece he writes is swollen with images of pies, pints and pit villages, his youth marching for an end to apartheid and knocking bobbies hats off with placards, Thatcher withering the north east - all while generally self-describing as a leftie and socialist. Had the bollocks to criticise Di Canio and said that the Wonga deal was another of “a million pricks to my heart”.

“There is no place for intolerance in our game,” he once said. Aye unless it’s going to make his team some money by getting into bed with notorious human rights abusers, owners with ultra ultra conservative politics (women can scarcely even see a game or play sport in the presence of men in Saudi, never mind no freedom of marriage or even movement), governments who butcher dissenting journalists in broad daylight etc etc etc.

I skimmed past this when I first saw it, because I thought it was some mackem making a really crass joke. But it's so much worse than that. That blokes twitter is just full of him spreading hatred and anger with absolutely no-one commenting, liking or re-tweeting him That is almost more cringey than when they made Woodgate say the statement "I'm not racist, I'm black and white".

Theyve always been the nations embarrassment as far as football supports go, this will take things to a whole new level. Saw some absolute whopper rallying fans for a new Jarrow March. Another one saying the government has financially ruined the region by not allowing Saudi investment (???) when it needs it most - because of Covid. So tone deaf it’s unreal. Buzzing for it all though. Onwards.
