The Saudis wanted it all their own way.

Obviously chuffed NUFC are stuck with Cashley.

Morally, relieved these scumbags are nowhere near the English Game.

Win, Win - another relegation battle looms for our nearest and dearest.

To be fair when it looked like it was gonna happen I was sick as fuck and didn't read much about it. Has anyone got any links to stuff about them? Someone mentioned torturing a journalist?

Has he been on the drink celebrating the takeover since lock down? He looks hungover and dishevelled 😂

premier league football. running at a profit. transfer record broken twice in succesive windows. an exciting young talent in ASM.

BUT

Newcastle fans 'left to pick up the pieces'.

What an embarrassment.

To be fair, thats a good article and I agree with the writer. Selling out to the Saudis is exactly what it says on the tin......

More or less mirrors my own view on the matter.

Had it been us, I'd have never went again. We would have ceased being a club, ( I know), and instead would have become the gullible fools, polishing the image of a backward looking country which currently happens to be awash with petro dollars. Currently mind.

I think the Premier League never wanted this to go through. PR nightmare.

Thats the biggest statement of the obvious ever. The PL would have been massacred had they given this the go ahead. We are talking about a country that cuts up innocent journalists because they don't tow the party line. Fit and proper?

Many a north east journalist stating deal not dead and could still happen. Into the denial state. This whole fallout has been beautiful

Basically Ashley is making a profit, nufc are in the prem league again, so millions guaranteed even if they go down

its an example of a perfectly run club, if it was anywhere outside the asylum it’s currently based in.
It was 10 years of mild success which lead them to think they were an entitled big club who deserved more than what they have always had

Couldn’t agree more. Whilst I would find it highly amusing if they turned their attention to a clubs like ours just to push them over the edge, I don’t think I’d be renewing with people like that in charge.

If Im honest I think it would go like this.
1) appalled by the regime. Will support the club from my local pub in Essex, but wont go to games.
2) club makes a few good signings, starts the season strongly. Two months in, my old man asks if I fancy a look to the match, when I am home on saturday, reluctantly I go. Its a great game, we win and future looks rosy.
3) into the new year, club on a high. We go to our second game of the season. Another good game and we are favourites to go up.
4) Saudi who?

It appalls me to write that. I wouldnt want them running the club, but Im not going to lie, if we started performing I would still go a few times a season. I would be part of the problem
:(

But I would NEVER celebrate or push my MP to pressure the takeover to go ahead.

Apparently it's got nowt to do with the test  I honestly think piracy was the biggrst concern, especially after the WHO statement. How could anyone respect the PL if that went through?

Exactly, and it will always be the problem. They were hyped to the moon and now expect everyone to sympathise and support them

they had everything for them to win something, failed and now it’s nigh on impossible for it to return.
