These two have now had a stand of over 40 runs for 50% of all innings they’ve opened together (5/10) but never reached 100 (highest is 92 vs South Africa)

I'm a fan of traditional openers but this run rate is bonkers given the game situation and the lead.

Burns strike rate of 23. Hit out or get off.

Test cricket, in fact most cricket is playing the game the situation, the game situation sometimes requires you to dig in, sometimes the game situation requires you to move it along a bit quicker, this current game situation is clearly the more it along a bit quicker.
Solid start but need fast runs off these two now they're in. They're trying on and off but not sure they have it in them. Wouldn't be upset with a wicket now

Agree we so far ahead a wicket now could actually be a positive

I get the feeling Windies aren't arsed about these two wickets either :)
Are we allowed to retire a batsman unbeaten in a test, like they do in friendlies? Keeps their precious averages propped up at least!

Na they've set their stall out for the draw. Basically said, if you want runs you go over the top.

Which won't happen with these 2, so it slows the game down. Can't blame them, can't see any way they win the match from this point.

It’s sophoric watching these .
I know I’ve had a half bottle of wine but with all the potential time to be lost to weather this is poor

That's more of an over... the most nurdley looking 10 off an over I've ever seen!
.
