Championship relegation watch

Happy memories of the Wednesday manager crying live on air when he was told Sunderland had gone up and his lot were relegated. 30 years on, we might just have something similar on Sky Sports News next week.

He had a criminal record and the EFL rules state somebody with a criminal record can not take over a club

Thats what i read anyway

There are only a limited range of convictions which would result in a barring. The rules are here EFL Official Website - Appendix 3 - Owners' and Directors' Test . Furthermore a spent conviction doesn't count. The time for this varies, but in general, unless it's involved more than four years inside, it's less than six years The Rehabilitation of Offenders Act | Nacro . So unless it was a recent conviction for one of the listed offences, it won't count.

What are the odds of L1and L2 getting under way on Sept 12 or earlier?

I wonder what Wigan, Hull and Charlton would make of it. I wonder if they will still think it was a great idea for the EFL to resume football in the Championship but not League One.

At least now we can all focus on League One and Two. The two leagues frozen out of a league system that works against it. Finally we will see League One and Two take centre stage.

Be interesting to see what the EFL do, our club as been nonstop berating them for months about their lack of upholding their own rules.

Would you still like to be League one

Yeah pal, it’s more enjoyable winning most weeks, and being at the top end of the league, although what we’ve achieved this season is remarkable, a fantastic turnaround in fortunes, we’ve played some fantastic football too, but being in a relegation battle continually is dog wank.
